The Marlins are interested in veteran utility man Mark DeRosa, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun Sentinel.
DeRosa would likely serve as a bench player with the team but would have an opportunity to see a fair amount of at-bats if healthy, Rodriguez said. DeRosa, who will be 38 before next season, was limited by injuries last year and only received 101 plate appearances with the Nationals. DeRosa hit just .188/.300/.247.
DeRosa does bring versatility to a team when healthy. He saw time at every infield spot with the Nationals last season and has experience in the outfield.
