The Pirates are close to promoting Triple-A outfielder Starling Marte.
Marte was rumored to be coming up once the team demoted Jose Tabata. Instead, the team called up outfielder Gorkys Hernandez.
The Pirates are seeing how Marte will react to the news. according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Dejan Kovacevic.
Kovacevic remains adamant Marte will get a promotion soon. He spoke to a high-ranking Pirates official on Monday who said "it's time" regarding Marte.
The team may be waiting until shortly after the All-Star break to call up Marte, according to Kovacevic's colleague, Rob Biertempfel.
