Catcher Yorvit Torrealba "is worth keeping an eye on" as a potential fit with the Colorado Rockies, wrote Troy E. Renck in The Denver Post. Torrealba was designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers last week, after they acquired catcher Geovany Soto from the Chicago Cubs.
Torrealba could be a fit in Colorado after the Rockies lost catcher Wil Nieves on waivers to the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Torrealba, in 49 games with Texas this season, is batting .236/.302/.342 with three home runs and 12 RBI. He's playing out the final year of a two-year, $6.25 million contract he signed in November 2010.
