Red Sox pitcher Rubby De La Rosa couldn’t go five innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
De La Rosa allowed three runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. He did not record any strikeouts and walked two. De La Rosa performed well early, tossing two scoreless innings to open the game. He had trouble getting through the last couple of innings, though. De La Rosa proved hittable to begin the third, allowing a single and a double to open the frame. A ground out led to the first run of the game for Toronto. Walks were an issue the next inning. De La Rosa put two men on via the walk, and then gave up a run-scoring single. The final run allowed by De La Rosa was given up on a fielder’s choice.
De La Rosa left with the game tied, picking up a no-decision. He’ll take on the Rays in his next start.
