It was the eve of Independence Day the last time Rockies starter Yohan Flande had an ERA hovering over where it landed on Saturday.
Flande pushed it to 4.95, its highest in more than two months, with a miserable start in Seattle. He allowed four runs on six hits before leaving with two out in the fourth inning. He walked two and fanned three.
The southpaw gave up at least one run in every inning he pitched but the first. He was tagged by home runs off the bats of Robinson Cano and Jesus Montero. He has surrendered a whopping 12 homers in his last 36 1/3 innings.
