The Red Sox have outfielders returning from the disabled list, which means they'll soon have outfielders to trade.
But not, it seems, Cody Ross.
Teams asking the Red Sox about their plans are being told that they intend to keep Ross, in an outfield that would eventually include Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury.
Ryan Sweeney and, possibly, Daniel Nava are expected to be made available for trade, instead.
Ross has a .286 average and a .934 OPS in 51 games for the Red Sox. He would have been an attractive target for many teams, including the Rangers, who would like to add a right-handed hitter.
