Yankees starter Ivan Nova left his start in Baltimore Monday with a bruised right foot and sprained right ankle. X-rays showed no broken bones, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Nova left the game after spraining his ankle while fielding a Wilson Betemit grounder in the sixth inning. Earlier in the game, Nick Markakis hit a ball off Nova's foot.
Nova had allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks in 5 1/3 inning before leaving and was replaced by lefty Clay Rapada. Rapada left after two batters because of a viral infection.
