Patrick Mooney@PJ_Mooney14H agoThe way Cubs manager Craig Counsell explained it, Matthew Boyd felt something in his left knee while hanging out at home today, getting up and down to play with his kids. An MRI showed a meniscus issue. With Boyd going on the IL, the club added Trent Thornton from Triple-A Iowa. -
Patrick Mooney@PJ_Mooney14H agoMatthew Boyd is expected to undergo surgery on his left knee to address a meniscus issue, Cubs manager Craig Counsell announced. The club will have a better timeline for Boyd’s return following the anticipated procedure, but it won’t be a minimum stint on the injured list.
