  • Mets' Robert Stock: Allows one unearned run

Stock didnt factor into the decision Friday against Washington after allowing an unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings. Stock bounced back nicely after struggling in his previous outing, when he allowed eight runs on nine hits and five walks across three innings in a loss to the Pirates. This time, he kept Washington without an earned run despite dealing with traffic throughout his start. The Nationals scored in the third after Francisco Lindor's error extended the inning, while Stock worked around three walks and three hits before departing with one out and two runners on in the fifth. Nate Lavender escaped that jam to keep Stock's line intact. The 36-year-old Stock lowered his ERA to 6.57, though his inability to work deep into games continues to limit his fantasy appeal. If Stock stays in the rotation, he'd make his next start at home against the Padres.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Plundered for eight runs

Stock (0-2) took the loss against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and five walks while striking out four across three innings. Stock was given the nod to start Saturday after a solid 2026 debut against the Marlins this past Sunday. He could not replicate that success in Pittsburgh, putting the Mets behind early by allowing three runs in the first inning before being tagged for another four runs in the fourth without recording an out in the frame. Given that the Mets traded Clay Holmes and Freddy Peralta at the trade deadline, Stock figures to get at least one or two more turns in the rotation. He's tentatively lined up to face the Nationals at home next weekend.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Receiving another start

Stock is listed as the Mets' probable starting pitcher for Saturday's game in Pittsburgh. The 36-year-old righty will be awarded another turn through the rotation after a solid showing last Sunday, when he held the Marlins to one run on three hits and no walks while striking out four over five innings in his first big-league start since 2021. The Mets thinned their starting depth by dealing away Clay Holmes (fibula) and Freddy Peralta at the trade deadline, and with prospects Jonah Tong and Jack Wenninger struggling of late at Triple-A Syracuse, Stock doesn't appear to be facing any imminent threats for his spot in the rotation.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Making first MLB start since 2021

The Mets selected Stock's contract from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Marlins at Citi Field. Stock will be making his 2026 MLB debut in what will be his first big-league start since the 2021 season. The 36-year-old right-hander has staged an incredible comeback from thoracic outlet syndrome, after he experienced symptoms of the nerve condition back in March while pitching for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic. He was cleared to resume pitching in minor-league games June 19 and moved into the rotation earlier this month at Syracuse, where he allowed just two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine in 7.2 innings between two starts. Stock will now make the jump into the rotation at New York, though his opportunity to stick around with the big club in a starting role beyond Sunday will likely depend on whether at least one of Clay Holmes (fibula) and Freddy Peralta is moved ahead of Monday's trade deadline. Expect Stock to have a limited workload Sunday, as he hasn't thrown more than four innings or 66 pitches in any of his minor-league outings.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Start with big club on tap

Stock will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start the Mets' series finale against the Marlins on Sunday, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports. Stock is in line to make his first major-league appearance since June 8, 2025 and his first start in the majors since 2021. The 36-year-old right-hander opened the season on the shelf at Syracuse while recovering from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, which he underwent in March. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment June 19 and allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine across 7.2 frames in two starts upon returning from Syracuse's injured list earlier this month. Stock will likely be in line for a limited workload Sunday and may be in store for just one start until the Mets get Clay Holmes (fibula) back from the 60-day IL.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Slated for TOS surgery

Stock (shoulder) said Sunday that he'll require surgery to address thoracic outlet syndrome and could be sidelined for the remainder of the season, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. Stock is leaving the door open to pitch late in the season, but since he had been attending Mets camp on a minor-league deal, he's unlikely to surface in the majors at any point in 2026. The right-hander first experienced discomfort in his shoulder following his start Tuesday for Team Israel in an exhibition game against the Marlins.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Dealing with shoulder discomfort

Stock experienced shoulder discomfort while playing with Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic and will undergo testing, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. Stock, entering his age-36 season, is on a minor-league contract with the Mets, and just weeks away from Opening Day, the veteran reliever began experiencing shoulder discomfort. The results of his testing should paint a clearer picture of how long he'll be sidelined, but according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, Stock won't pitch for Israel for the rest of the WBC.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Latches on with Mets

Stock signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Tuesday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports. Stock saw major-league action for the first time since 2021 this past season and gave up three earned runs over 2.2 innings with the Red Sox. He was more successful at Triple-A Worcester, finishing the year with a 3.92 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 85 frames. He will most likely begin 2026 at Triple-A Syracuse.

  • Robert Stock: Cut loose by Boston

The Red Sox released Stock on Tuesday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports. Stock was designated for assignment June 9, and he's been playing for Triple-A Worcester since. However, he'll hit the open market after Tuesday's move. The 25-year-old has thrown 85 innings at Triple-A this season, posting a 3.92 ERA and a 96:36 K:BB.

  • Red Sox's Robert Stock: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Red Sox outrighted Stock to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday. Stock is off the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization in a depth capacity. The righty has yielded three runs over 2.2 innings covering two appearances with Boston this season.

  • Red Sox's Robert Stock: Removed from 40-man roster

The Red Sox designated Stock for assignment Monday. Stock struggled Sunday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks while recording just two outs. He's being sent out in favor of Brian Van Belle, who will give the Red Sox a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Red Sox's Robert Stock: Outrighted to Triple-A

Stock cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Worcester, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports. After being selected to the active roster Monday and pitching two innings out of the bullpen for the Red Sox, Stock was DFA'd by the club Tuesday. The 35-year-old will officially remain within the organization now that he's cleared waivers and will continue to serve as depth for the WooSox.

  • Red Sox's Robert Stock: DFA'd by Boston

The Red Sox designated Stock for assignment Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. The right-hander was selected to Boston's 40-man roster and pitched against the Blue Jays on Monday, giving up one run on three hits and a walk over two innings. Stock could return to Triple-A Worcester if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

  • Red Sox's Robert Stock: Called up to majors

The Red Sox selected Stock's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. Stock will provide the bullpen with some length following Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. The 35-year-old made one start and one relief appearance at Worcester, tossing 8.1 scoreless frames with a 12:3 K:BB. Stock has not made an appearance at the big-league level since 2021.

  • Red Sox's Robert Stock: Signs with Boston as NRI

The Red Sox signed Stock to a minor-league contract Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Stock most recently pitched in the Mexican Pacific Winter League, posting a 1.60 ERA and 78:37 K:BB over 84.1 innings. The 35-year-old last saw action in the majors back in 2021 and is a long shot to capture an Opening Day roster spot. It's not clear whether the Red Sox plan to use Stock as a starting pitcher or reliever.

  • Brewers' Robert Stock: Inks minors deal with Milwaukee

Stock signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Stock spent the 2022 season with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization and pitched to an overall 3.60 ERA with 138 strikeouts (and 83 walks) in 29 starts covering 165 innings. Control problems plagued him throughout his time in MLB-affiliated ball, and it seems that those issues haven't been fully ironed out yet. The hard-throwing 33-year-old will probably be viewed as organizational bullpen depth by Milwaukee, though he did at least prove in the KBO that he can handle a starter's workload.

  • Robert Stock: Elects free agency

Stock (hamstring) elected free agency after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday. Stock made one start for the Cubs this season and two for the Mets before missing the majority of the second half with a strained right hamstring. Between that injury and his career 4.71 ERA in 72.2 major-league innings, Stock may be stuck looking for a minor-league deal heading into his age-32 season.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Moved to 60-day IL

Stock (hamstring) was transferred from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Friday. The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Rich Hill, whom the Mets acquired from the Rays earlier Friday. In addition, the roster move means that Stock won't be eligible to return from the IL until late September, after he suffered what was an apparently severe right hamstring strain. The Mets are expected to get multiple rehabbing starting pitchers back from injuries before then, so in all likelihood, Stock will remain on the shelf for the rest of the season.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Exits with hamstring issue

Stock was removed from Tuesday's game against the Reds with a right hamstring injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. The right-hander threw his warm-up tosses for the second inning but left the field with the athletic trainer before the start of the frame. Stock allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout and a walk during his one inning of work. It's another tough break for an already injury-plagued Mets rotation, though the specifics of this injury remain unclear.

  • Mets' Robert Stock: Confirmed as Tuesday's starter

Stock will be recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to start Tuesday's game against Cincinnati, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. The club has yet to officially call Stock up from Triple-A, but he's in line to make the third big-league start of his career. His last outing dates back to July 7 against Milwaukee, when he gave up two runs on four hits and two walks while fanning five over four innings of work.
