  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Traded to Angels

The Angels acquired Soler from Atlanta on Thursday in exchange for Griffin Canning, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. There's no money changing hands, so the Angels will be solely responsible for the $32 million Soler is owed over the next two seasons. Slated to turn 33 in February, Soler slashed .241/.338/.442 with 21 home runs over 142 regular-season games between San Francisco and Atlanta in 2024. He is likely to be used mostly at designated hitter with the Angels, although general manager Perry Minasian said Thursday that Soler could play some in the outfield, as well, per Taylor Blake Ward of the Sporting Tribune.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Goes yard against Dodgers

Soler went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Dodgers. The outfielder stretched Atlanta's lead to 5-0 with a 393-foot blast to left off Landon Knack in the second inning. The long ball broke a stretch of 49 consecutive plate appearances without a homer for Soler, as he last went deep Aug. 28 against Minnesota. The 2021 World Series MVP has struggled in his return to Atlanta. He's batting .217 (23-for-106) with six homers, 17 RBI and 17 runs scored over 34 games since joining the club at the trade deadline.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Getting breather Saturday

Soler isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays. Soler has tallied a base hit in each of his last three games, but he'll take a seat on the bench Saturday while Ramon Laureano takes over in right field.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Resting Saturday

Soler isn't in Atlanta's lineup Saturday versus the Nationals, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports. Atlanta will give Soler a day to rest Saturday as the team attempts to ease him back into playing after he missed over a week with a hamstring injury. He'll be replaced in right field by Ramon Laureano, who will bat sixth.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Returns to lineup, as expected

Soler (hamstring) will start in right field and bat second in Friday's game against the Nationals. It's his first start in more than a week since injuring his left hamstring, although he did make a couple pinch-hitting appearances during that stretch. Soler has collected a .969 OPS with four home runs in 15 games with Atlanta.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Friday return looking likely

Soler (hamstring) ramped up his running Thursday and is looking likely to return to Atlanta's lineup Friday versus the Nationals, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Soler hasn't started a game since tweaking his left hamstring last Wednesday, although he did draw a walk in a pinch-hit appearance Tuesday before being lifted for a pinch runner. The 32-year-old has already cranked four home runs in his first 15 games with Atlanta.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Still eyeing weekend return

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Wednesday that Soler (hamstring) has been running the bases and hitting and remains on track to return to the lineup during this weekend's series versus Washington, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Even though Soler will be out of the lineup for a sixth straight game Wednesday against the Phillies while he tends to a strained left hamstring, Atlanta remains confident that he'll avoid a stint on the injured list. In addition to classifying Soler as day-to-day, Snitker's willingness to use the 32-year-old off the bench in Tuesday's 3-1 win seemingly supports the notion that the outfielder/designated hitter will be back in the lineup soon. During his lone plate appearance Tuesday, Soler drew a walk in the bottom of the eighth inning before being lifted for a pinch runner.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Hopeful for Friday return

Soler (hamstring) said Tuesday that he thinks he'll be ready to play in Friday's series opener with the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Soler has been sidelined since Aug. 14 due to a strained left hamstring, but Atlanta chose not to place him on the injured list, hoping for a swift recovery. He'll miss a fifth straight game Tuesday and likely at least two more contests after that, but Soler looks like he'll be ready to go over the weekend. Ramon Laureano has been serving as the primary replacement in right field in Soler's stead.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Sitting again Sunday

Soler (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels. The 32-year-old indicated Friday that he didn't expect to play this weekend in Anaheim, so it's not a surprise he's out of the starting nine Sunday for the fourth straight game. Ramon Laureano will again man right field in Soler's place while Michael Harris bats leadoff.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: On bench Saturday

Soler (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels. Soler indicated Friday that he didn't expect to play during the weekend series against the Angels, so it's no surprise he's absent from the starting nine Saturday. Still, Atlanta remains hopeful the 32-year-old will be back soon. Ramon Laureano will patrol right field and bat sixth in Game 2 of the three-game set.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Sitting Friday

Soley (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Angels. As expected, Soler will sit for Friday's series opener after leaving Wednesday's game against Giants due to left hamstring tightness. The 32-year-old noted that his hamstring does feel better, but he doesn't expect to play during the weekend series, per David O'Brien of The Athletic. Ramon Laureano will start in right field and bat eighth against Angels right-hander Jose Soriano.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Diagnosed with hamstring strain

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said after Thursday's 6-0 loss to the Giants that Soler has been diagnosed with a mild left hamstring strain, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Soler was forced out early in Wednesday's 13-2 win with the hamstring injury, then sat out the series finale while he awaited the results of an MRI. Snitker labeled Soler as day-to-day after the MRI results came in, leaving Atlanta optimistic that the 32-year-old outfielder won't require a stint on the injured list. According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Soler said he will sit out Friday's series opener against the Angels, but he also noted that he's feeling better after a day of rest and may be able to return to the lineup at some point later in the weekend.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Won't play Thursday

Manager Brian Snitker said after Wednesday's 13-2 win over the Giants that Soler (hamstring) will not play in Thursday's series finale in San Francisco, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Soler injured his hamstring while running to first base in the fourth inning of Wednesday's contest, and while the overall concern level regarding his injury seems low, Atlanta will take a cautious approach and hold him out for at least one game. The slugging outfielder is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday, per Toscano, which will help Atlanta determine if Soler will need to miss any more time.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Makes precautionary exit

Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Giants due to left hamstring tightness. Soler presumably tweaked his hamstring while running to first base on a groundout in the fourth inning, as he was replaced in the field to start the bottom half of the frame. His removal was described as precautionary, so his injury likely isn't too serious, but Atlanta will monitor his condition heading into Thursday's game.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Slugs two homers in loss

Soler went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Sunday's 9-8 loss to Colorado. Soler helped Atlanta build an 8-2 lead with a three-run blast in the seventh inning and a solo shot in the eighth, but the team's bullpen couldn't make that lead last. Hitting in Colorado went extremely well for Soler this weekend -- he went 7-for-13 with four homers and nine RBI during the three-game series. He's now slashing .246/.336/.442 with 16 homers, 50 RBI, 64 runs scored, 24 doubles and a stolen base over 103 contests this season. He'll look to keep his bat hot against his most recent former team as Atlanta visits San Francisco for a four-game set starting Monday.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Getting afternoon off

Soler is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers. Atlanta and Milwaukee are wrapping up their series with a day game after a night game, so Soler's absence from the lineup would seem to be maintenance-related. Since being acquired from the Giants on July 29, Soler had started in right field and batted leadoff in each of Atlanta's last seven games, going 4-for-24 with one extra-base hit (a double), four walks, two runs and one RBI. Ramon Laureano will replace Soler in right field Thursday, while center fielder Jarred Kelenic steps into the leadoff spot.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Will bat leadoff

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday that Soler will serve as the team's primary leadoff hitter, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Soler took off after the Giants moved him to the leadoff spot, posting a .911 OPS over his last 24 games before being dealt to Atlanta on Monday. The 32-year-old also occasionally hit leadoff for Atlanta during the team's run to a 2021 World Series title. With Soler at the top of the batting order, Jarred Kelenic will slide down to the back half of the lineup.

  • Braves' Jorge Soler: Returning to Atlanta

Atlanta acquired Soler and right-hander Luke Jackson from San Francisco on Monday in exchange for left-hander Tyler Matzek (elbow) and infielder Sabin Ceballos, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Soler will head back to Atlanta, where he was a part of the team's postseason run and ultimate World Series championship in 2021 after being acquired at the trade deadline from Kansas City. The 32-year-old has produced a .240 batting average with 12 home runs, 40 RBI, 57 runs scored and one stolen base over 341 at-bats in 93 games with the Giants this season. Soler has also been running hot as of late, going 11-for-18 with a home run, five RBI and eight runs scored over his last five games. He's operated primarily as a designated hitter in 2024, but with Marcell Ozuna holding down that role in Atlanta, it's possible that Soler is asked to play some more in the corner outfield with his new club.

  • Giants' Jorge Soler: Bat stays hot in win

Soler went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Rockies. Soler posted a trio of three-hit games during this weekend's four-game series versus the Rockies, going 9-for-15 with four RBI and three walks in that span. The slugger has batted .359 (14-for-39) over 11 contests since the All-Star break, though it helps that the Giants have faced the Rockies in seven of those games. For the season, he's up to a .240/.330/.419 slash line through 93 contests.

  • Giants' Jorge Soler: Three hits in nightcap

Soler went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in a 5-0 win over the Rockies in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Soler was 0-for-3 with a walk in the first game, but he bounced back with a strong showing in the nightcap for his third multi-hit effort in the last four games. The 32-year-old is batting .253 with nine extra-base hits and eight RBI over 21 contests in July. For the season, he's up to a .235/.378/.467 slash line with 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 56 runs scored, one stolen base and 22 doubles over 92 games.
