Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Returns to lineup Sunday
Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the White Sox.
Ramirez returned to the lineup after getting Saturday off and made an immediate impact with a run-scoring single in Cleveland's two-run first inning. A sore hand caused him to miss two games in the middle of last week, and there was concern the soreness was related to the surgery he underwent on the same hand in June and led to Saturday's day off. Since returning from the orignal hand injury, Ramirez has gone 12-for-52 (.231) with eight walks, five steals, three RBI and 10 runs scored over 15 contests.

Ramirez isn't starting for Cleveland versus the White Sox on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Ramirez didn't start Tuesday or Wednesday due to a sore left hand, but he returned to the lineup Thursday and Friday, going 2-for-7 with two walks, four runs and a stolen base over the pair of contests. It's not immediately clear if his absence Saturday is due to continued soreness or if it's just a rest day. Angel Genao is starting at third base in Ramirez's stead, while Chase DeLauter is serving as the DH.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 8-2 win over the White Sox.
Ramirez recorded his second consecutive game with multiple runs scored Friday. The 33-year-old swiped his 28th bag of the season in the first inning and then scored on a two-run single by Angel Martinez. On the campaign, the switch-hitting Ramirez has slashed .234/.334/.386 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI, 28 stolen bases and 52 runs over 369 plate appearances.

Ramirez is nursing soreness in his surgically repaired left hand and will be relegated to the bench for a second straight day. The newly recalled Angel Genao will make his MLB debut as the Guardians' starter at third base in place of Ramirez, whom manager Stephen Vogt said is "definitely progressing really, really well," according to Mason Horodyski of News 5 Cleveland. Ramirez, who stole his first bags since returning from a hand injury July 22, is up to 26 steals on the season in just 78 games. After an 0-for-4 showing in the nightcap, he carries a .235/.332/.399 slash line with 10 homers, 35 RBI and 45 runs.

Ramirez will skip a rehab assignment and return from a five-plus week absence due to hamate bone surgery.
