Twins' Alec Asher: Inks MiLB deal with Minnesota
Asher signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Tuesday.
After being released by the Rockies in mid-March, Asher pitched in the independent Atlantic League during the 2019 season. The right-hander spent most of 2018 with Triple-A Columbus, where he recorded a 6.05 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with a 49:36 K:BB across 16 starts. Asher will have the opportunity to work with the big-league coaching staff before likely returning to the minors until potentially earning another shot with the Twins' bullpen.

Asher agreed to a minor-league contract with the Rockies, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
The right-hander split the 2018 season between the Dodgers and Brewers organizations, logging all but two of his 24 appearances (17 starts) at the Triple-A level. While with the Brewers' Pacific Coast League affiliate at Colorado Springs, Asher posted a 6.05 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 96.2 innings, numbers that don't portend well for him finding success at Coors Field if he should get a look with the Rockies at any point in 2019.

Brewers' Alec Asher: Outrighted to Triple-A
Asher cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday.
Asher was designated for assignment back on Tuesday to make room for Jake Thompson. The 26-year-old's 5.42 career ERA through 119.2 major-league innings wasn't appealing enough for another team to claim him, so he'll remain with the Brewers in an organizational depth role.

Asher will provide reinforcements within the Brewers' bullpen as the club gears up for five games in four days. The right-hander was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers just 12 days earlier, but he'll head to Milwaukee now that the Dodgers deemed him unworthy of a 40-man roster spot.
