Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Caps historic doubleheader
Swanson went 3-for-5 with a triple, four RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in the Cubs' 10-5 win over the Mets in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.
Just hours after erupting for two homers and seven RBI in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader, Swanson stayed red hot by delivering a four-RBI performance. His biggest swing came in the sixth inning, when he ripped a go-ahead RBI triple to give Chicago a lead it would never surrender. He also recorded his 10th stolen base of the year in the ninth inning. Swanson's 11 RBI across the doubleheader set a Cubs franchise record, and he has now totaled three homers and 15 RBI through the first three games of the series after entering Tuesday with just 14 RBI over his previous 48 contests. The veteran shortstop also extended his hitting streak to six games, with four straight multi-hit efforts while batting .478 (11-for-23) during that stretch.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Massive performance in matinee
Swanson went 2-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBI in a 10-3 win over the Mets during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.
The veteran shortstop launched a three-run homer off Nolan McLean in the sixth inning that put the Cubs in the lead for good, before wrapping up the scoring in the eighth with a grand slam off Jonathan Pintaro. It was Swanson's first multi-homer effort of 2026, and he may be heating up along with the weather -- four of his 11 long balls on the season have come during his current five-game hitting streak, a surge that's seen him bat .444 (8-for-18) with three steals, seven runs and 14 RBI.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Homers, drives in four Tuesday
Swanson went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 9-6 win over the Mets.
While it's been a rough season overall for Swanson, he is now riding a modest four-game hitting streak, and he's got two home runs and seven RBI during the hot stretch. The veteran shortstop is still stuck with a subpar .189 batting average and .641 OPS for the year, but he's remained a lineup fixture for the Cubs, and he's at least showing some signs of turning things around.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Steals two bags
Swanson went 1-for-4 with two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 16-2 win over the Blue Jays.
After ending a 24-game homer drought Wednesday versus the Rockies, Swanson followed up with his first multi-steal game of the season in Friday's series opener. The veteran shortstop still hasn't been particularly productive at the plate lately and is without a multi-hit performance in his past 19 games.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Hits first home run since May
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Rockies. He also stole a base.
Swanson has been in a miserable funk at the plate, but he showed some signs of life with his eighth home run of the season Wednesday. It was the shortstop's first long ball since May 18, a span of 24 games. In the time between homers, Swanson batted just .135 with a .414 OPS and a lone RBI. It will take a few more good games for fantasy managers to begin to trust that the veteran is out of his slump.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Struggles continue Saturday
Swanson went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and three strikeouts in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Giants.
While Swanson salvaged some fantasy value by drawing a walk and coming around to score, he still had a rough day. The shortstop is just 1-for-12 over his last four games and is batting a paltry .133 this month, which has lowered his batting average on the season to .176. The Cubs don't have an obvious replacement for Swanson on their roster, however, unless they wanted to try Nico Hoerner at short on a more regular basis and open up second base for the likes of Matt Shaw or Pedro Ramirez.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Sitting again Sunday
Swanson is not in the starting lineup for Sunday night's contest against the Giants.
Swanson will remain on the bench for the second straight contest, which doesn't come as much of a surprise after manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that the 32-year-old would "get a couple days off." Nico Hoerner will draw the start at shortstop while Pedro Ramirez enters the lineup at second base, batting eighth in the series finale with San Francisco.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Getting some time off
Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters Saturday that Swanson is healthy but will "get a couple of days off," Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Swanson is not in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants, and it sounds like he may be on the bench for Sunday's series finale as well. The veteran shortstop has struggled at the plate this season, and over his last 10 games he's gone 5-for-33 (.152) with one RBI, two steals and 12 strikeouts. Nico Hoerner will start at shortstop Saturday, and Swanson's absence means more playing time is available for Pedro Ramirez.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Taking seat Sunday
Swanson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Nico Hoerner and Pedro Ramirez will serve as the Cubs' starters in the middle infield while Swanson retreats to the bench for the series finale. Swanson had started each of the Cubs' last six games, going 4-for-21 with one home run, one walk, two RBI and two additional runs during that stretch.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Extends hitting streak with homer
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 9-3 loss to the Brewers.
Swanson clubbed his seventh home run of the season in the fifth inning, which extended his modest hitting streak to three games. Before this recent stretch, the veteran shortstop was batting just .133 in May, and he's still under the .200 mark for the year to go along with a subpar .669 OPS. Swanson will likely be allowed to play his way out of his early-season slump, but fantasy managers may want to consider some other options in shallow formats if his struggles persist for too long.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Day off Saturday
Swanson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.
Swanson snapped his four-game hitless streak with a double in Friday's contest, and he'll now receive a day to reset after posting just a .369 OPS through 53 plate appearances since the start of May. Nico Hoerner will slide to shortstop in Swanson's absence, opening up second base for Matt Shaw.
