Padres' Jordan Guerrero: Makes return from Tommy John

Guerrero (elbow) has pitched in 10 games between three minor-league levels this season, posting a 4.82 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB over 9.1 innings.
When Guerrero underwent Tommy John surgery last August, it was thought that he could miss the entirety of the 2022 campaign. However, the right-hander was able to return to game action Aug. 16 and has moved from rookie ball to Single-A to Double-A over the course of the past month. Guerrero can top 100 mph with his fastball and has posted a 3.09 ERA and averaged over a strikeout per inning across 162 career minor-league contests.

Guerrero underwent Tommy John surgery last week and isn't likely to return to game action until 2023, Ryan Payne of MadFriars reports.
Guerrero pitched in 27 games for Triple-A El Paso this season, registering a 4.02 ERA and 40:18 K:BB across 40.1 innings. The right-hander has yet to earn his first big-league call-up and will now be out of action for a considerable period, possibly until the 2023 campaign.

Guerrero was reassigned to minor-league camp Friday.
Guerrero served as a non-roster invitee this spring but should begin the season with Triple-A El Paso. The southpaw hasn't yet made his major-league debut but has posted a 5.43 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in his past two minor-league seasons.

Guerrero signed a minor-league contract with the Padres as a non-roster invitee Wednesday.
Guerrero wasn't signed in 2020 with no minor-league season, but he'll get a chance to work with the major-league coaching staff with the Padres ahead of the 2021 campaign. The 26-year-old spent parts of 2018 and 2019 at the Triple-A level but has yet to make his big-league debut.
