White Sox's Victor Reyes: Reassigned to minor-league camp
Reyes was reassigned to minor-league camp by the White Sox on Tuesday.
After signing a minor-league contract with the White Sox with an invitation to spring training, there was some thought that Reyes had a good chance of making the Chicago roster out of camp. Instead, he's reassigned to the minors, and the former Detroit outfielder will likely be an everyday option for Triple-A Charlotte to begin the 2023 campaign.

White Sox's Victor Reyes: Stays in division
Reyes agreed to a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Friday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Reyes elected free agency after the Tigers removed him from their 40-man roster last month and he winds up remaining in the American League Central. The outfield depth with the White Sox is lacking, so it looks like a good landing spot for the 28-year-old. Reyes had a .254/.289/.362 batting line in 92 games for Detroit in 2022.

Victor Reyes: Hits free agency
Reyes rejected an outright assignment to Triple-A Toledo and elected free agency Thursday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Reyes had a .254/.289/.362 slash line in 92 games for Detroit in 2022, and the organization opted not to keep him on the 40-man roster through the offseason. The 28-year-old will enter free agency and isn't guaranteed to secure a big-league deal for 2023.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Goes deep Sunday
Reyes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Twins.
Reyes batted ninth and provided some rare pop, as the home run was just his second of the season. The outfielder's career high is the five long balls he hit last season, as he's settled in as a contact hitter during his time in the majors. Reyes is useful as outfield depth on an MLB roster, though he lacks a ton of fantasy upside without great power or speed production.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Losing work to Baddoo
Reyes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Reyes will sit for the third time in four games and appears to have lost hold of a near-everyday role in the Detroit outfield after opening September with a .188/.196/.271 slash line through his first 12 games of the month. Akil Baddoo is included in the lineup for the sixth game in a row and looks to have moved ahead of Reyes on the depth chart.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Sitting again Wednesday
Reyes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Reyes will sit for the second day in a row while the Tigers roll out an outfield of Kerry Carpenter, Riley Greene and Willi Castro for the series finale. With Reyes slashing .235/.250/.353 since the start of September, he could be in danger of fading into a fourth-outfielder role as the Tigers aim to open up more time in the corner outfield for Carpenter and Castro.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Records two doubles Saturday
Reyes went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-2 win over the Rangers.
Reyes batted second and made life difficult on Texas starter Dallas Keuchel, as he tallied both of his doubles against the lefty. Reyes is now batting .283 this season and is currently riding an 11-game hitting streak. The outfielder doesn't contribute a ton of power, with only one home run and now 14 doubles this year, but he has some fantasy value as long as he's playing most days and swinging a hot bat.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Productive game Wednesday
Reyes went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Giants.
Reyes extended his hitting streak to nine games, and he's batting .382 during the stretch. The outfielder isn't a huge power threat, with just one home run this season and 14 in his five-year MLB career, but he has shown an ability to hit for a solid average. Reyes is also seeing regular playing time with the Tigers, so he has some fantasy value as long as he's swinging a hot bat.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Records RBI during loss
Reyes went 1-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a steal in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Guardians.
Reyes recorded an RBI single in the fifth off righty starter Cal Quantrill. The outfielder has performed drastically better at home with a .315 batting average and a .779 OPS in 89 at-bats compared to a .234 batting average and a .555 OPS in 107 at-bats away from Detroit. The 27-year-old's power has been non-existent recently as he has a .271 slugging percentage with just two extra-base hits in 46 at-bats across his last 14 games.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Finds home in No. 2 spot
Reyes will start in right field and bat second in Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
He'll bat out of the two hole for the fifth consecutive contest after going 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 7-5 win Monday in the second game of a doubleheader with Cleveland. Though Austin Meadows (Achilles) could soon return from the 10-day injured list, Reyes appears likelier than Willi Castro (undisclosed) or Akil Baddoo to stick as a regular starter in the corner outfield.

Tigers' Victor Reyes: Hits bench Tuesday
Reyes is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians.
Reyes will take a seat for the second game in a row, ceding his spot in the corner outfield to Akil Baddoo. Though Reyes has gone 3-for-25 with three doubles and 10 strikeouts over his last seven games, he should still be in decent position to pick up regular starts while Austin Meadows (Achilles) remains without a clear target date to return from the injured list.

Reyes will remain in the lineup for the fifth straight contest after going 7-for-16 with three doubles, a walk, three RBI and two runs over the previous four contests.
