  • Twins' Anthony Banda: Posts second save

Banda struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks. Yoendrys Gomez worked the eighth inning against the middle of Arizona's order. Banda then got the ninth, and he got Ketel Marte to fly out for the final out after the lineup turned over. Banda has allowed just one unearned run over seven innings in June, adding an 8:3 K:BB. He's at a 4.22 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB across 32 innings this season while adding two saves and nine holds. He should continue to be part of an unsettled high-leverage mix in Minnesota. Banda is one of 12 relievers to log a save for the Twins this season, including seven who have at least two saves.

  • Twins' Anthony Banda: Records two outs, earns win

Banda (2-0) earned the win Friday against the Cardinals after allowing one hit over two-thirds of an inning. Banda entered the game with one out in the eighth inning and allowed a single to JJ Wetherholt that loaded the bases. However, he retired Ivan Herrera with a popout and Alec Burleson with a flyout to end the threat. Banda has been outstanding for the Twins of late and hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 14 appearances (13.1 innings) dating back to May 10, posting a 13:6 K:BB in that stretch.

  • Twins' Anthony Banda: Earns first save

Banda earned the save in Friday's 8-6 win over the Red Sox, striking out one over 1.1 perfect innings. Banda entered a 7-6 game with two men on and two outs in the eighth inning, and he was able to put out the fire before retiring the side in the ninth. It marked the southpaw's first save chance of the season, and he now owns a 6.23 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB across 21.2 innings. The Twins have had 10 pitchers record a save in 2026, so this is a closer situation to be avoided until there appears to be a change in philosophy.

  • Twins' Anthony Banda: Set to make roster

Banda will make Minnesota's final 26-man roster, MLB.com reports. He had a 4.91 ERA and 9:6 K:BB in 7.1 innings this spring. Banda should have a prominent role in the setup corps for the Twins. However, he's one of three lefties in the bullpen, which could limit his usage in the highest-leverage roles.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Removed from 40-man roster

The Dodgers designated Banda for assignment Friday. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Ben Rortvedt, who was claimed off waivers. Banda holds a 3.14 ERA and 111:52 K:BB over 114.2 regular-season innings during his time with the Dodgers, but the club has several other left-handed relief options. He is likely to be claimed off waivers.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Serving as opener Monday

Banda will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher in Monday's game versus the Phillies, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Lefties are hitting just .154/.233/.231 against the left-handed Banda this season, so it makes sense to have him face lefty sluggers Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper in the first inning. Banda will likely work just the one inning before handing things off to Emmet Sheehan in bulk relief.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Nabs third relief win

Banda (3-0) picked up the win against Philadelphia on Saturday, pitching one perfect inning. Roki Sasaki logged another short outing (four-plus innings) for Los Angeles, and Banda took over in the fourth with a pair of runners on base and nobody out. He managed to escape the jam with the help of some poor Phillies baserunning -- after J.T. Realmuto advanced to third on a flyout, Bryson Stott was thrown out at first for a double play on another flyball that would have easily scored Realmuto. Still, it was another effective performance for Banda, who has pitched five scoreless frames over five outings to begin the campaign. He leads MLB with three wins, though given the unpredictable nature of reliever victories, that doesn't mean much for fantasy purposes.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Inks deal for 2025

Banda agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the Dodgers on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The left-hander inked a minor-league deal with the Guardians last winter and was dealt to the Dodgers in May, and he proved to be an effective bullpen piece for Los Angeles with a 3.08 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 50:18 K:BB over 49.2 regular-season innings. Banda tallied two saves and eight holds while also starting two games as an opener, and he could fill a similarly versatile role in 2025.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Opening for Knack on Sunday

Banda is opening Sunday's game against the Rockies, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Landon Knack will serve as the primary pitcher after Banda exits, foreshadowing how the Dodgers might use Knack in the postseason. Banda returned from the injured list Thursday to throw 1.1 scoreless innings against the Padres.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Back from injured list

Banda (hand) was activated from the injured list Thursday. Banda has been sidelined since Sept. 9 after fracturing his left hand. He had factored into the save picture before being sidelined, though he's more likely to work in a setup role to conclude the regular season and into the playoffs.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Playing catch

Banda (hand) has started to play catch at the Dodgers' spring training complex in Arizona, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Banda is less than a week removed from going on the 15-day injured list with a fractured left hand, so it's a good sign that he's already throwing. The club remains hopeful that he can make it back before the end of the regular season. Banda has been a nice find for the Dodgers this season, although he had struggled lately before going on the IL, allowing seven runs over his last four appearances.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Earns save Sunday

Banda allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Rays. Banda was the closer of choice for manager Dave Roberts on Sunday and got the job done while navigating around a one-out base hit. That's Banda's second save this month and sixth straight outing without allowing a run. He's having a stellar turnaround season in his first year with the Dodgers, posting a 2.18 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 46:16 K:BB in 41.1 innings.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Collects first save

Banda struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Athletics. Banda got the save opportunity after all of Evan Phillips, Blake Treinen, Alex Vesia and Daniel Hudson were deployed between the fifth and eighth innings. It was a drama-free experience for Banda, who needed just 12 pitches (nine strikes) to retire the side. Hudson, who has been the favorite for saves lately, pitched against the heart of the Athletics' order in the eighth inning. Bullpen depth has been a strength for the Dodgers this year, and Banda's been a successful part of that with a 2.16 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 34:14 K:BB over 33.1 innings while adding five holds and a 1-1 record. Banda is still more likely to work in low-leverage spots, but Sunday's outing is proof he can handle bigger moments.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Starting Thursday

Banda will start Thursday's game against the Phillies, SportsNet LA reports. Banda has a 2.05 ERA and 20:12 K:BB over 22 innings this season and will make his first start since 2022 on Thursday. The lefty will likely cover only an inning or two before turning things over to the bullpen, with Landon Knack a candidate to work as the bulk reliever.

  • Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Traded to Los Angeles

Banda was traded from the Guardians to the Dodgers for cash considerations Friday. Banda will head to Los Angeles after playing with the Guardians' Triple-A affiliate in Colombus. The 30-year-old left-hander logged a 2.12 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with a 25:6 K:BB across 17.0 IP with the Clippers this season.

  • Guardians' Anthony Banda: Receives NRI from Guardians

Banda signed a minor-league contract with the Guardians on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training. Banda spent most of 2023 at the Triple-A level but made 10 appearances with the Nationals, allowing five runs in seven innings. The seven-year veteran holds a career 5.69 ERA and 109:49 K:BB over 118.2 innings.

  • Nationals' Anthony Banda: Outrighted to Triple-A

Banda cleared waivers and was outrighted Thursday to Triple-A Rochester, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports. Banda was designated for assignment by the Nationals on Sunday after allowing five earned runs on nine hits and five walks through seven innings of relief to begin the 2023 season. The 29-year-old will remain part of the organization for now but is no longer on the 40-man roster.

  • Nationals' Anthony Banda: Lands bullpen spot

The Nationals selected Banda's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Thursday. Banda will open the season as the Nats' lone left-hander in the bullpen. That means he's likely to be busy, but it's not going to lead to any fantasy value.

  • Nationals' Anthony Banda: Last lefty standing

Banda is the only healthy left-handed reliever left in the Nationals' big-league camp and figures to be part of the Opening Day bullpen, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports. The 29-year-old journeyman pitched for three different teams in 2022 with poor results, but Banda has struck out 12 batters in 9.1 innings this spring without allowing a homer. The Nats have gone without a southpaw in their bullpen in the past, so his spot is far from secure; however, if he does break camp on the 26-man roster, Banda figures to work in middle relief rather than seeing consistent high-leverage action.

  • Nationals' Anthony Banda: Catches on with Nats

Banda signed Wednesday with the Nationals on a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to big-league spring training, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. The journeyman left-hander should get the chance to compete for a spot in the Nationals' Opening Day bullpen. He made 32 appearances at the big-league level across stops with the Blue Jays, Yankees and Pirates in 2022, logging a collective 6.75 ERA, 2.10 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB over 26.2 innings.
