Dietrich Enns: Bound for Asia
The Rays will place Enns on waivers Wednesday with the aim of granting him his unconditional release to pursue playing opportunities in Asia, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Enns will have to clear waivers before he's officially granted his release Friday, but the expectation is that he'll go unclaimed since he seemingly already has an agreement in place with a team in Korea, Japan or Taiwan. The 30-year-old lefty likely would have been worthy of a 40-man roster spot with the Rays or another organization after submitting a 2.82 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 22.1 innings with Tampa Bay this past season, but since he's not arbitration eligible until 2024 and not scheduled to hit free agency until 2027, Enns will be able to secure a more lucrative deal by heading overseas for his prime earnings years.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Sent to Triple-A
Enns was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports
He logged a 0.67 ERA, 0.60 WHIP, two wins and two saves in 13.1 innings across five September appearances, but after pitching two innings Friday, the Rays will summon a fresh arm (Josh Fleming) in his place.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Needs just one out for save
Enns struck out the only batter he faced to record his second save of the year Monday in a 6-4 win over the Blue Jays.
The Rays entered the ninth sitting on a 6-2 lead, but things quickly changed after David Robertson allowed a two-run homer to Marcus Semien to make it 6-4. Robertson was eventually replaced by JT Chargois who couldn't escape the inning either after loading the bases. Enns was the next one to be called upon and was able to clean up the mess by striking out Breyvic Valera to end the game. Enns has been fantastic this month with a 0.79 ERA, 0,71 WHIP and 13:1 K:BB to go along with two wins and two saves over four appearances. The Rays still don't have an outright closer, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Enns get at least another save before the regular season ends.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Continues recent success in win
Enns (2-0) got the win in Thursday's 5-2 victory over Detroit, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings.
Manager Kevin Cash tabbed Enns to follow opener Louis Head and the 30-year-old delivered the quality performance Tampa Bay was banking on. The only run he surrendered came on a Niko Goodrum solo shot in the fifth, while two Tigers were picked off the bases while the lefty was on the hill. Enns has now permitted just one run in 11 September innings across three appearances while striking out 12 batters.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Following opener Thursday
Enns will pitch behind opener Louis Head against the Tigers on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Manager Kevin Cash previously said Enns would start Thursday's contest, but the left-hander will instead work as the primary pitcher. The 30-year-old covered four frames in long relief Saturday and should be able to pitch a bit deeper in Thursday's contest.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Entering rotation
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Enns will start Thursday's game against the Tigers in Tampa Bay, radio broadcaster Steve Carney reports.
Enns will slot into the rotation as a replacement for Chris Archer (hip), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. After Archer exited his start Saturday against the Tigers early with the injury, Enns came on in long relief and struck out six over four perfect innings. He could tack on another inning or two to his workload while stepping into a starting role in a rematch with the same Tigers squad.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Perfect in relief win
Enns (1-0) picked up the win in Saturday's 7-2 victory over the Tigers, tossing four perfect innings of relief while striking out six.
Chris Archer got the start but left after four innings due to a hip issue, and Enns entered the game to replace him with the Rays already ahead 5-1. The southpaw gave Detroit no opportunity to mount a comeback, putting together the best outing of his brief big-league career to earn his first MLB win. Enns has a 3.38 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB through 16 innings for Tampa Bay this season while bouncing between the majors and Triple-A, and he'd be one of the top candidates to fill Archer's rotation spot or work as a primary pitcher behind an opener if the right-hander misses his next turn.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Receives call-up

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Exits big-league camp
The Rays reassigned Enns to their minor-league camp Tuesday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Enns had been hoping to win an Opening Day bullpen role with the Rays, but he was never considered especially likely to break camp with the big club. The 29-year-old lefty previously appeared in the majors in 2017 with the Twins, giving up three runs over four innings.

Rays' Dietrich Enns: Joins Tampa's roster pool
The Rays signed Enns to a minor-league contract Tuesday and added him to their 60-man roster pool, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Enns attended spring training with the Mariners, but he became a free agent in May after Seattle released him and several other minor-league players. He spent the 2019 season in the Padres organization, starting in 25 of his 28 appearances for San Diego's Triple-A affiliate at El Paso, with whom he posted a 6.70 ERA and 1.74 WHIP over 137 innings. Enns will report to the Rays' alternate training site in Port Charlotte.

Twins' Dietrich Enns: Sent outright to Rochester
Enns cleared waivers Monday and was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester.
Enns was designated for assignment on May 1, but he garnered no interest on the waiver wire after his middling start to the season with the Red Wings (4.50 ERA, 11:11 K:BB in 20 innings pitched). He'll continue to serve as organizational depth moving forward.

Twins' Dietrich Enns: DFA'd by Twins
Enns was designated for assignment by the Twins on Tuesday.
The Twins needed a 40-man roster spot for Gregorio Petit to join the big-league club, and Enns wound up being the roster casualty. The southpaw appeared in the big leagues last season, but in four starts at Triple-A this year, he produced a 4.50 ERA and walked as many batters as he struck out. He'll now be exposed to waivers.

Twins' Dietrich Enns: Optioned to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Enns to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.
Enns was one of six Twins sent back to minor-league camp Wednesday, with fellow pitcher Felix Jorge also set to join him in Rochester to begin the campaign. With the Twins bolstering their rotation depth earlier this spring with the acquisition of Jake Odorizzi and Ervin Santana (finger) on the mend, Enns, who appeared in two games (one start) with the big club last season, doesn't have an easy path back to Minnesota even if he excels with Rochester early on this season. At this point, Phil Hughes, Anibal Sanchez, Tyler Duffey and Aaron Slegers probably all rank ahead of Enns as back-end rotation options should injuries open up another spot on the staff.
