Nido (knee) went 1-for-2 with a run scored in his first rehab game with Triple-A Iowa on Thursday.
Nido is exactly one month removed from a debridement procedure on his right knee but is ready for game action again. He shouldn't need more than a handful of rehab games before returning. Christian Bethancourt has played well as the Cubs' backup to Miguel Amaya, but there could be room for all three catchers when rosters expand.
