  • Yankees' Brock Selvidge: Requires season-ending surgery

Selvidge recently underwent internal brace surgery on his left elbow and will miss the 2026 season, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports. Selvidge is one of the Yankees' better pitching prospects and flashed a fastball that reached 97 miles per hour earlier this spring before he suffered the elbow injury. He previously dealt with a pinched nerve in his biceps that required surgery in 2024. The 6-foot-3 southpaw turns 24 in August and logged 75 innings at Double-A last season, and he will probably return to Double-A when healthy in 2027.

  • Yankees' Brock Selvidge: Back at Double-A

Selvidge (biceps) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three Saturday against Double-A Binghamton. Selvidge had been working his way through a rehab assignment since May 19 before being returned to Double-A Somerset ahead of Saturday's outing. He struggled at times to find his command but was able to work out of danger for the most part. Selvidge spent the majority of his time at Double-A a season ago, posting a 4.25 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with an 83:40 K:BB across 84.2 innings.

  • Yankees' Brock Selvidge: Shelved to begin season

Double-A Somerset placed Selvidge (biceps) on its 60-day injured list March 19. Selvidge didn't appear in any games for Somerset after July 6 last season due to biceps inflammation, finishing the campaign with a 4.25 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 83:40 K:BB in 84.2 innings. It's unclear if the same injury or a different one will result in him being shelved to begin the 2025 season, but in any case, Selvidge shouldn't be expected to return to game action until late May at the earliest.
