The Blue Jays optioned Dallas to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
With Toronto's acquisition of Simeon Woods Richardson from the Twins earlier this week, Dallas loses his spot on the 26-man roster after he picked up the win in relief during his major-league debut Thursday against Atlanta. Dallas yielded just one run on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts across 3.2 innings. He's operated mainly as a starter with Buffalo this season.

Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Earns first win in MLB debut
Rotowire
Dallas (1-0) earned the win Thursday against Atlanta, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings of relief.
Making his MLB debut, the right-hander threw 38 of his 68 pitches for strikes in a bulk-relief role and generated a strong 26.9 percent whiff rate. Dallas entered after Mason Fluharty opened the game with 1.1 scoreless innings and inherited a runner on third base, but he escaped the jam unscathed. An inning later, Dallas allowed two more baserunners before settling in and retiring the final seven batters he faced. After missing the entire 2025 season, the 25-year-old battled back from Tommy John surgery and posted a 4.50 ERA with a 38:13 K:BB across 36 innings at Triple-A Buffalo this season prior to his promotion.

Dylan Cease (hamstring) and Max Scherzer (forearm) are both due back soon, so Dallas could be sent back down following Thursday's outing.

Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Could make MLB debut Thursday
Rotowire
Dallas has been added to the Blue Jays' taxi squad and could be called up from Triple-A Buffalo to make his major-league debut Thursday in Atlanta, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
The Blue Jays have yet to announce a starting pitcher for Thursday's series finale, but they've tipped their hand with Dallas joining the taxi squad. Dallas missed the entire 2025 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he's looked solid in 2026 at Buffalo, holding a 4.50 ERA and 38:13 K:BB over 36 frames. Toronto could get both Dylan Cease (hamstring) and Max Scherzer (forearm) back from the injured list next week, so Dallas will likely be in line for just a spot start or a single bulk-relief appearance if he does in fact get called up Thursday.

Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Done for season
Rotowire
Dallas, who is on the 60-day injured list at Triple-A Buffalo with an undisclosed injury, will not pitch in 2025, Thomas Hall of The Jays Nation reports.
He logged a 6.34 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 50:24 K:BB in 61 innings at Triple-A in 2024. Dallas had consistent success in the lower levels thanks to a great slider, but his subpar fastball velocity may limit him to a low-leverage relief role in the majors.
