  • White Sox's Prelander Berroa: Recalled Tuesday

The White Sox recalled Berroa from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports. The right-hander was sent to Charlotte in early August but will rejoin the big-league bullpen after John Brebbia was designated for assignment. Berroa has made just three appearances in the majors this season and has largely struggled at Triple-A with a 6.60 ERA and 49:35 K:BB over 46.1 innings.

  • White Sox's Prelander Berroa: Returns to minors

The White Sox optioned Berroa to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday. Berroa was recalled from Charlotte on Friday and surrendered three runs in 1.2 innings for the White Sox across two appearances. With Ky Bush being called up from Charlotte to start Monday's game against the Athletics and Dominic Leone (elbow) coming off the 60-day injured list, Berroa will give up his spot on the 26-man active roster.

  • White Sox's Prelander Berroa: Heads back to minors

The White Sox optioned Berroa to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. Berroa made just one appearance during his time with the White Sox, retiring one batter and hitting another with a pitch in Tuesday's loss to the Twins. The White Sox will replace him on the active roster with Jared Shuster, who was recalled from Triple-A and will give the bullpen more length.

  • White Sox's Prelander Berroa: Expected to be recalled

Berroa is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte prior to Sunday's game versus the Rays, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. The White Sox need bullpen help after five relievers were needed in Saturday's extra-inning win over the Rays. Berroa allowed 11 runs over his first 4.1 innings with Charlotte this season but has been unscored upon in his last seven appearances. The hard-throwing righty was acquired from the Mariners over the offseason in the Gregory Santos trade and will be making his White Sox debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • White Sox's Prelander Berroa: Resuming throwing Friday

Berroa (shoulder) has been cleared to resume throwing Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Berroa had a right shoulder issue crop up earlier this week, but everything checked out fine and the reliever is "on pace to crank it up," per White Sox manager Pedro Grifol. It sounds like the hard-throwing reliever could have a chance to be ready for Opening Day, which would be a pleasant surprise. If healthy, Berroa should be in the late-inning mix for the White Sox.

  • Mariners' Prelander Berroa: Optioned to Double-A

Berroa was optioned to Double-A Arkansas on Saturday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Berroa walked three over two-thirds of an inning in his major-league debut Friday but managed to escape without allowing a run. Isaiah Campbell is taking his spot in the bullpen.

  • Mariners' Prelander Berroa: Moving to relief

Berroa has transitioned to a relief role with Double-A Arkansas, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. The 23-year-old righty opened the year in the Double-A rotation, but after walking 19 batters and giving up 13 earned runs in 22.2 innings across five starts, Seattle will look to fast-track him as a reliever. Berroa, who is already on the 40-man roster, has a premium fastball/slider combination that could play up in a high-leverage role, assuming he can throw enough strikes.

  • Mariners' Prelander Berroa: Optioned to Double-A

Berroa was optioned to Double-A Arkansas by the Mariners on Tuesday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports. Berroa impressed during the spring camp, but the right-hander was never a real option to make the Mariners out of spring training. The right-hander will be a part of the Arkansas rotation, and he has a chance to be a part of the Seattle staff before the end of 2023, with 2024 a more likely ETA.
