  • Blue Jays' Rafael Lantigua: Nabs NRI deal with Blue Jays

    The Blue Jays signed Lantigua to a minor-league contract Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training. Lantigua spent his first seven seasons in pro ball with the Blue Jays before slashing .230/.356/.330 with seven homers, 17 steals and a 77:73 BB:K over 125 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization in 2025. The 27-year-old is now back in his original organization and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Buffalo to begin the 2026 campaign.

  • Rafael Lantigua: Becomes free agent

    Lantigua cleared waivers Thursday and elected free agency. Lantigua spent a brief period of time with the Phillies in 2025 but never appeared in an MLB game. He played in 125 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, however, where he slashed .231/.357/.331 with seven homers, 57 RBI, 82 runs scored and 17 stolen bases. The 27-year-old has yet to make his big-league debut and will likely have to settle for another minor-league deal in free agency.

  • Phillies' Rafael Lantigua: Returned to Triple-A

    The Phillies optioned Lantigua to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. Lantigua will cede his spot on the 28-man roster to Alec Bohm (shoulder) as Bohm returns from the 10-day injured list. Lantigua didn't appear in a game for the Phillies. He's slashed .233/.360/.334 with seven home runs and 17 stolen bases across 490 plate appearances with Lehigh Valley.

  • Phillies' Rafael Lantigua: Called up Tuesday

    Lantigua had his contract selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Lantigua will join the major-league roster after batting .233 with seven home runs, 57 RBI, 82 runs scored and 17 stolen bases over 124 contests with Lehigh Valley this year. He'll replace Edmundo Sosa (groin), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, while Brewer Hicklen was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
