Brewers' DL Hall: Starting Sunday
Hall will start Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Hall logged 5.2 innings across two relief appearances since joining the Brewers as a September call-up, and Sunday will mark his first start since he tossed seven scoreless frames in Cincinnati on Aug. 30. Hall has the potential to look excellent on the right day, but he's struggled to stay healthy for prolonged stretches while working as a traditional starter. Arizona's .787 OPS as a team against lefties ranks second in baseball behind the Phillies (.800 OPS).

Brewers' DL Hall: Joins club as September call-up
The Brewers recalled Hall from Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.
Hall rejoined the Brewers in short order after he was briefly returned to the minors following his spot start in the second game of Friday's doubleheader with the Reds. Since he tossed seven scoreless innings for Milwaukee in the 14-0 win, Hall presumably won't be available for another couple of days, but once he's recovered from Friday's start, he'll likely operate as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. Milwaukee has a pair of off days coming up Thursday and Sept. 9, but with the club finishing the regular season with a stretch of 19 games in 20 days, it's possible that Hall picks up some starts as part of a six-man rotation.

Brewers' DL Hall: Returned to Nashville
The Brewers returned Hall to Triple-A Nashville after Friday's doubleheader versus the Reds, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Hall turned in what was by far his best start of the season during the Brewers' 14-0 victory in the nightcap of the doubleheader, claiming the win while making it through seven innings without allowing a run and tallying five strikeouts. However, since he was designated as the 27th man for the twin bill, he'll have to at least temporarily head back to the minors. The 25-year-old southpaw could return to Milwaukee to boost its pitching depth once rosters expand Sunday.

Brewers' DL Hall: Blanks Reds in first win
Hall (1-1) earned the win against Cincinnati in the second game of Friday's doubleheader, allowing four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Hall was excellent in just his second big-league start since April. In two spot starts this month, the southpaw has allowed just one earned run while racking up 14 strikeouts over 11.2 innings. Overall, Hall sports a 4.82 ERA on the season with a 1.75 WHIP and 27:14 K:BB across 28 innings. While he figures to head back to Triple-A after the twin bill, he figures to be the first man up should the Brewers need rotation help down the stretch.

Brewers' DL Hall: Added ahead of spot start
The Brewers recalled Hall from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Hall is the designated 27th man for Friday's doubleheader against the Reds and will start the second game. The left-hander made a spot start earlier this month -- his first with the Brewers since April -- and struck out nine while yielding three runs (one earned) over 4.2 innings. Hall is likely to be sent back down immediately following the double dip.

Hall has joined the Brewers in Milwaukee and could be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start or serve as a bulk reliever in the second game of Friday's doubleheader in Cincinnati, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Hall made a spot start earlier this month against the Reds, allowing three runs (one earned) while striking out nine over 4.2 frames. The left-hander would likely be added as the 27th man Friday and then be returned to Triple-A immediately following the twin bill. Colin Rea is scheduled to start Friday's matinee for Milwaukee.

Brewers' DL Hall: Sent back to minors
The Brewers optioned Hall to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Hall had some good moments in his return from the 60-day injured list Sunday, as he struck out a career-high nine batters while allowing three runs over 4.2 innings in a spot start against the Reds. However, the Brewers will stick with a five-man rotation moving forward, so Hall will head back to Nashville and stay stretched out while he waits for a starting spot to open up.

Brewers' DL Hall: Records career-high nine Ks
Hall struck out nine and didn't factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Reds while allowing three earned runs on five hits and three walks.
Hall made his first big-league appearance since going on the shelf in late April with a sprained left knee and came out firing. Through three scoreless innings, Hall had punched out six batters, but he got a little wild in the fourth frame. He allowed Spencer Steer to steal a base on a wild pitch, walked Stuart Fairchild on six pitches and hit TJ Friedl with a pitch as part of a two-run inning for Cincinnati. He bounced back by retiring the first two batters of the fifth frame but was yanked after surrendering a solo home run to Tyler Stephenson and issuing a walk to Steer. The Brewers haven't clarified what Hall's role will look like moving forward, as the club already has five healthy starting pitchers and would have to expand the rotation to six men to open up a regular spot for him. The left-hander could be a candidate to serve in a multi-inning relief role if the Brewers opt not to make him a fixture in the rotation, and he also has minor-league options remaining if the organization prefers to have him stay on a starter's schedule at Triple-A Nashville.

Brewers' DL Hall: Activated, starting Sunday
The Brewers reinstated Hall (knee) from the 60-day injured list Sunday. He'll start in Milwaukee's series finale with Cincinnati.
Milwaukee already has five healthy starters, so unless manager Pat Murphy plans to expand the rotation to six men, Hall could be headed to the bullpen following Sunday's outing, which will be his first with the big club since April 20. Before landing on the IL due to a left knee sprain, Hall's spot in the rotation may have already been on thin ice, as he submitted a 7.71 ERA and 2.27 WHIP across 16.1 innings over his four starts with the big club this season. The left-hander displayed better form over the final three outings of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, logging a 2.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB across 13 innings. Hall topped out at five innings and 76 pitches during his rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be operating under any significant workload restrictions Sunday.
