Diamondbacks' Dylan File: Signs minors deal with Diamondbacks
File signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
FIle, 27, spent last season in the Korea Baseball Organization after holding a 4.57 ERA over 19 starts and seven relief appearances at Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers organization in 2022. The righty is slated to begin the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Reno.

Dylan File: Headed for Korea
File was granted his release from the Brewers on Wednesday and will sign a one-year, $650,000 contract with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.
File spent all of last season in Triple-A Nashville, recording a 4.57 ERA and 1.24 WHIP through 114.1 innings. He spent a year and a half on Milwaukee's 40-man roster between November 2020 and May 2022, but he was never able to earn a big-league promotion. Rather than signing with another organization in affiliated ball on a minor-league deal, the 26-year-old righty opted to play overseas in pursuit of a bigger payday. If he can put up solid numbers in Korea in 2022, File could draw renewed interest in North America next offseason.

Brewers' Dylan File: Cast off 40-man roster
File was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
File was sent to the minors in late March, and he's posted a 4.10 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 37.1 innings over eight appearances (seven starts) for Nashville this year. He should remain with the Triple-A club after losing his spot on the 40-man roster, assuming he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Brewers' Dylan File: Bound for Triple-A
The Brewers optioned File to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
File was one of five 40-man roster players that the Brewers demoted to Triple-A in the team's latest round of cuts from big-league camp. The 25-year-old righty made nine starts for Nashville in 2021, logging a 5.27 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 42.2 innings.

Brewers' Dylan File: Activated and optioned
The Brewers reinstated File (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.
File will stick around in Nashville after he completed his third rehab outing with the affiliate Saturday, and his seventh rehab start overall. The 25-year-old right-hander has been on the shelf all season while recovering from the surgery he required in the spring to address a fractured elbow, but he looks to be fully built up for a spot in the Nashville rotation. He was dominant in Saturday's 11-1 win over Toledo, striking out eight over 5.2 innings while permitting one run on two hits and no walks.

Brewers' Dylan File: Heading to Triple-A
File (elbow) will shift his rehab assignment from High-A Wisconsin to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
Nashville marks the third stop of File's minor-league assignment, which began earlier this month at the Brewers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate. Over his two-appearance stint at Wisconsin, File tossed five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and four walks. File currently resides on the big club's 60-day injured list, but once he's reinstated, he'll most likely stick around at Nashville rather than joining the Milwaukee bullpen.

Brewers' Dylan File: Moves rehab to Low-A
File (elbow) made the third appearance of his rehab assignment Saturday for High-A Wisconsin, covering 2.1 innings while giving up one run on two hits and two walks and striking out three.
File, who has been on the 60-day injured list all season while recovering from offseason elbow surgery, made his first two rehab appearances in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League earlier this month before heading to Wisconsin. The 25-year-old tossed 49 pitches in Saturday's outing and looks like he'll be stretched out for starting duty during his rehab assignment. Once reinstated from the 60-day IL, File will most likely be assigned to Triple-A Nashville or Double-A Biloxi.

Brewers' Dylan File: Rehabbing in ACL
File (elbow) began a rehab assignment with the Brewers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate earlier this month. He's covered 4.2 innings across his two appearances, giving up two earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out six.
File remains on the 60-day injured list, and he'll presumably need to make at least a couple more rehab outings before being reinstated. The 25-year-old right-hander is working his way back from February surgery to address a stress fracture in his elbow. Expect the Brewers to option File to Double-A Biloxi once he's activated from the IL.

Brewers' Dylan File: Lands on 60-day IL
File (elbow) was recalled from Double-A Biloxi and placed on the 60-day injured list Sunday.
The 24-year-old underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right elbow in February, so it's not a major surprise to see the Brewers move him to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. File was expected to be sidelined 2-to-3 months following the procedure, though it's unclear where he currently stands in his recovery.

Brewers' Dylan File: Out after elbow surgery
File underwent surgery in early February to repair a stress fracture in his right elbow, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. He's expected to require 2-to-3 more months of recovery time.
The Brewers added File to the 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, but he may not be available to make his 2021 debut until June. The right-hander had a 2.79 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 73:15 K:BB over 80.2 innings at Double-A Biloxi in 2019. He spent the entirety of last season at Milwaukee's alternate training site.

Brewers' Dylan File: Added to 40-man roster
File was added to the Brewers' 40-man roster Friday.
File continued his development at the Brewers' alternate training site in Appleton during the 2020 season, and he'll now be protected from the Rule 5 draft. The right-hander posted a 2.79 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 80.2 innings with Double-A Biloxi in 2019, and he could make his major-league debut at some point in 2021.
