While the Brewers have yet to provide an update on Lutz, who underwent sports hernia surgery over the offseason, he was expected to be back to full health by April. The 21-year-old doesn't figure to factor significantly into the big-league picture during the shortened 2020 season after spending the 2019 campaign with High-A Carolina, hitting .255/.335/.419 across 477 plate appearances.

Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Turns things around
Lutz has hit .295/.381/.554 with seven home runs, 13 doubles, 21 RBI and a 16:44 BB:K in 160 plate appearances over his last 36 games with High-A Carolina.
Lutz is playing at the High-A level this season for the first time, and he owned a woeful .444 OPS after 19 games. The slow start was not all that surprising for someone 2.6 years younger on average than the rest of the players in the Carolina League, according to Baseball Reference, but he has turned things around in a big way since, putting up impressive numbers in each of the three slash categories. The 2017 competitive-balance round pick is one of the top prospects in the Brewers' organization.

Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Slow start
Lutz is hitting only .182/.250/.299 in 84 plate appearances for High-A Carolina. He has 30 strikeouts, good for a 35.7 strikeout percentage.
Lutz, a Competitive Balance Round A pick in 2017, struggled early last season at Low-A but was better over the second half. Brewers' Tristen Lutz: Heading to High-A level
Lutz will begin his season with High-A Carolina, according to Mike Rosenbaum of MLB.com.
Lutz did not post eye-popping numbers while spending the entire 2018 season with Low-A Wisconsin, but he showed marked improvement as the season wore on, posting an .802 OPS in 61 games after the Midwest League All-Star break compared to just a .677 OPS in 58 games before the cut-off. Lutz was a competitive-balance pick for the Brewers just two years ago, and the promotion signals the club is confident the strides he made last season will carry over to the 2019 campaign.

Lutz put the full scope of his skill set on display Monday, showcasing the plus power and solid speed and plate discipline that made him a Competitive Balance Round A pick in 2017. It's the 19-year-old's contributions as a slugger that drive most of his intrigue in dynasty settings, and he's beginning to rack up the extra base hits with more regularity after a slow start to Midwest League play. Lutz has tallied three home runs, 11 doubles and a triple in just 70 at-bats over his last 18 games.

Lutz went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs in a game with Low-A Wisconsin on Thursday.
Lutz owned a woeful .366 OPS after 14 games this season but he has started to heat up, going 8-for-27 (.296) with a home run, three doubles, and 4:7 BB:K -- good for a .925 OPS -- over his last seven contests. Lutz has not received much fanfare as a prospect just yet, but at 18 years old he posted a .957 OPS over 40 rookie-league games in 2017 and was a competitive balance round pick earlier last year, so he could make some noise this summer if his recent adjustments stick.
