  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Homers, drives in five in win

Myers went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and five RBI in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Blue Jays. Myers doubled home two runs in the sixth inning and then broke the game open with a three-run homer in the eighth. The long ball was the 28-year-old's first since July 6, as he missed over two months with a fractured left ankle. On the year, he's batting .264 with three home runs, 19 RBI, 17 runs scored and four steals across just 104 plate appearances with the Marlins.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Returns from 60-day IL

The Marlins activated Myers (ankle) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Myers has been shelved since just before the All-Star break with a fractured left ankle, but he's ready to return after playing a few rehab games with Triple-A Jacksonville. The Marlins currently aren't scheduled to face any lefties this week, so the right-handed hitting Myers will likely be more of a bench bat.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Likely to be activated Tuesday

The Marlins are expected to activate Myers (ankle) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Twins, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports. Myers has been on the shelf since July 13 while recovering from a fractured left ankle, but he's ready to rejoin the big club for the final week of the season after going 4-for-12 with two home runs and two walks over four rehab games with Triple-A Jacksonville. The 28-year-old could be a candidate to occupy the short side of a platoon with one of the Marlins' three left-handed-hitting everyday outfielders (Kyle Stowers, Jesus Sanchez and Griffin Conine).

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Ready for live BP

Myers (ankle) is scheduled to advance his running progression and take live batting practice this week, MLB.com reports. On the shelf since July 14 after he fractured his left ankle when he kicked a clubhouse door following his ejection from a game a day earlier, Myers looks to be gearing up for a return from the 60-day injured list at some point during the final week of the season. When healthy this season, Myers has typically been used in the short side of a platoon in the Miami outfield. He logged 95 plate appearances prior to landing on the IL and slashed .265/.337/.422 with two home runs and four stolen bases.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Sitting against lefty Sunday

Myers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds. Myers looked to be moving into a full-time role last week, but he now finds himself on the bench for the fourth time in six contests. The right-handed-hitting Myers had previously occupied the short side of a platoon in right field with the lefty-hitting Jesus Sanchez, but the Marlins will keep Sanchez in the lineup over Myers while southpaw Nick Lodolo takes the hill for the Reds on Sunday.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Sitting Thursday

Myers isn't in the Marlins' lineup for Thursday's game against the Astros. Myers will get a breather Thursday after going 6-for-14 with a homer and three RBI over his last five games. While he rests, Bryan De La Cruz, Nick Gordon and Jesus Sanchez will start across Miami's outfield.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Taking seat Tuesday

Myers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros. Myers had started three straight games in right field, but he'll yield to Jesus Sanchez on Tuesday. Myers went 5-for-10 with a three-run home run and a double across those three starts.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Shines in win

Myers went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over the White Sox. Myers' third-inning RBI single got the Marlins on the board, and his two-run homer in the seventh put them ahead for good. Myers is 6-for-11 with four extra-base hits over his last three contests. He's up to a .268/.333/.451 slash line with two homers, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases through 81 plate appearances. He doesn't have a full-time place in the lineup yet, but he's pushing for more playing time in right field over Jesus Sanchez.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Contributes in Friday's start

Myers went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox. Seeing his first action in July, Myers chased Drew Thorpe from the game with a seventh-inning double before scoring the Marlins' first run of the night. The 28-year-old outfielder is beginning to see his playing time tick up, and he's taking advantage -- Myers has started three of the last eight games while also coming off the bench in a fourth, going 4-for-12 (.333) during that brief stretch with three of his five doubles and two of his three steals on the season. With Miami desperate for offense, manager Skip Schumaker could write Myers' name on the lineup card more frequently heading into the All-Star break.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Swats second career homer

Myers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Mets. Myers tagged Sean Manaea for a two-run homer in the second inning, marking Myers' first homer of 2024 and just the second long ball of his career. Since being called up April 28, Myers is slashing .269/.367/.462 with 12 strikeouts in 30 plate appearances.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Bangs out triple in 2024 debut

Myers went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Nationals. Getting the start in right field and batting seventh in his season debut with the Marlins, Myers ripped a three-bagger off Patrick Corbin in the first inning and came around to score on Vidal Brujan's own triple in the very next at-bat. While he's in the majors, Myers will likely be deployed primarily against southpaws behind Miami's outfield trio of Jazz Chisholm, Jesus Sanchez and Nick Gordon, all of whom hit left-handed. If he gets hot at the plate though, the offense-starved Marlins could give Myers more playing time than expected.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Called up Sunday

The Marlins recalled Myers from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. The 28-year-old was unable to earn a place on Miami's Opening Day roster but will join the big club a month into the season. Myers had a poor start to the campaign at Jacksonville with a .659 OPS and 31.8 percent strikeout rate in 25 games.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Returns to minors

Myers was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Myers has a .644 OPS across 70 plate appearances in his first look in the big leagues this season, but he has just eight at-bats in September and will now head back to Triple-A. Jorge Soler (oblique) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Steals first big-league bag

Myers went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Brewers. Recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, the 27-year-old got the start in center field and batted eighth with Jazz Chisholm unavailable while dealing with what's thought to be a minor knee issue. Myers took advantage of the opportunity, swiping his first career base in the majors in the seventh inning as the Marlins tried to erase a 3-2 deficit. Chisholm could be back in the lineup as soon as Friday, but if he's not ready to return, Myers might get the nod again against right-hander Bryce Elder and Atlanta.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Sent to Triple-A

Myers was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Myers operated as Miami's primary center fielder for most of July and had a 1.043 OPS in his first 10 games, but he'll head back to the minors since he has one hit and nine strikeouts in his past 23 at-bats. Avisail Garcia (back) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Sitting amid slump

Myers is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rays. Myers got off to a nice start upon his initial promotion to the Marlins in early July, but he's gone 0-for-16 with six strikeouts and zero walks over his last four games. Jon Berti, Jesus Sanchez and Bryan De La Cruz will start across the outfield Tuesday.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Off to fast start

Myers went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 10-9 win over the Cardinals. Making his first career MLB start, Myers manned center field for the full nine innings and made one of the biggest defensive plays of the night in the fourth inning when he flagged down a deep Nolan Arenado flyball at the fence to prevent a potential extra-base hit. The starting assignment came one day after Myers made his MLB debut off the bench and went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. The 27-year-old converted pitcher posted a monstrous .956 OPS and stole 16 bases between Triple-A Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola earlier this season and could have a path to steady playing time in center field with Jonathan Davis (knee) recently joining Jazz Chisholm (oblique) on the injured list, so Myers could be a name to keep an eye on in deeper leagues.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Called up Monday

Myers was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. As expected, Myers will join the Marlins in Miami ahead of their four-game series with the Cardinals. The 27-year-old has produced an impressive .440 average with six homers, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and two stolen bases over 75 at-bats in 20 games with Jacksonville since being promoted from Double-A Pensacola earlier in the season. Although he's not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Cardinals, he seems likely to make his major-league debut in the coming days. Myers will replace Jazz Chisholm (oblique) on the 26-man active roster after Chisholm was placed on the 10-day injured list.
