Williams allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Monday.
The positive aspect of Williams' outing is that he surrendered just four hits, but two of those left the park, and he also walked three batters. This was the second straight start -- both against the Yankees -- in which the right-hander allowed two long balls after doing so in just two of his first 12 appearances to begin the season. Williams has also seen his punchout numbers dip of late -- he's now recorded six or fewer strikeouts in three straight outings following a five-start stretch in which he averaged eight punchouts per appearance. However, Williams still leads the American League with 99 strikeouts overall, and he's added a strong 3.32 ERA and 1.10 WHIP along with nine wins (tied for first in the majors) through 14 starts spanning 86.2 frames.

Although Williams gave up just four knocks Wednesday, three went for extra bases and two left the yard. The 26-year-old right-hander has provided consistent length for the Guardians in 2026, pitching at least five innings in all 13 starts thus far, and he's fanned at least six in 10 outings. Williams will take a steady 3.20 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 94:25 K:BB over 81.2 innings into his next start, which is set to be a rematch at home against the Yankees.

Williams (8-3) picked up the win Wednesday in a 3-2 victory over the Nationals, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four.
The right-hander fired 63 of 94 pitches for strikes as he won his third straight outing and delivered his sixth quality start of the season. Williams' four Ks tied his season low, but he still sits fourth in the majors with 88 strikeouts in 76.1 innings to go along with a 3.07 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next week against the Yankees.
Williams (7-3) picked up the win Friday, scattering four hits over eight scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over the Phillies. He struck out 11 without walking a batter.

For his part, Williams didn't allow a runner to get past second base while tying his season high in strikeouts, firing 70 of 99 pitches for strikes and generating 33 called or swinging strikes. The big right-hander will take a 3.25 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 84:22 K:BB through 69.1 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Nationals.

Williams (6-3) earned the win Sunday against the Reds, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out seven over six innings.
Williams generated 17 whiffs while throwing 68 of his 93 pitches for strikes, helping him work through six innings for a sixth consecutive outing. Outside of an Elly De La Cruz solo homer in the third inning, the right-hander kept the Reds in check despite allowing eight hits. He continues to miss bats at an elite rate, as his 73 strikeouts now rank fourth in MLB. However, over his last three starts, Williams has surrendered 26 hits and 12 earned runs, a notable shift from the beginning of the season when he limited hits effectively but struggled badly with walks. Even so, Williams still owns a solid 3.67 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and .225 batting average against on the season. He's scheduled to face a hot Phillies lineup next.

Williams (5-3) took the loss against the Twins on Sunday, allowing five runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out six across six innings.
Williams generated a whopping 24 whiffs while tossing 73 strikes on 101 pitches and limited the Twins to one run through four innings. However, things fell apart for him in the fifth; he gave up four runs in the frame, and his Guardians teammates couldn't generate enough runs for him to avoid the loss. Williams has yielded at least five earned runs and nine baserunners in three of his last four starts and now sits at a 3.74 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 66:22 K:BB across 55.1 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for next weekend at home against the Reds.

Williams (5-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Royals, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks with seven strikeouts across six innings.
After he was tagged for six runs over six innings against the Blue Jays on April 24, Williams pitched a season-high 7.2 innings of one-run ball against Tampa Bay last week. Williams' ERA has ballooned from 2.12 to 3.28 with the two bad outings sandwiched around his dominant start against the Rays. Williams served up a pair of homers to lefties Isaac Collins and Michael Massey at the bottom of the Royals' lineup Tuesday. Through 49.1 innings, Williams has an MLB-best 60 strikeouts, though walks (21 issued) remain a problem for the right-hander. He's in line to face the Twins at home Sunday.

It was a strong bounce-back performance after Williams got tagged for six runs over six innings in Toronto last Friday, with Wednesday's quality start being his third in seven trips to the mound this season. Williams will take a 2.70 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and an MLB-leading 53 strikeouts through 43.1 innings into his next outing, which is set to come on the road early next week in Kansas City.
