Rangers' Grant Anderson: Makes rehab appearance
Anderson (ankle) made a rehab appearance with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, tossing a 1-2-3 scoreless inning.
Anderson was placed on the 15-day injured list Sept. 6 with a right ankle contusion but looks to be tracking toward an abbreviated stint on the shelf. The right-hander has typically served as a low-leverage reliever for Texas this season, logging one save and one hold while turning in an 8.10 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 26.2 innings.

Rangers' Grant Anderson: Lands on injured list
Anderson was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 5, with a right ankle contusion.
The right-hander was forced to leave Wednesday's game after a 103 mph comebacker off the bat of Jazz Chisholm caromed off his ankle. Anderson appears to have escaped with nothing more than a bruise, but it will still cost him at least a couple weeks and could perhaps end his season. Owen White was recalled in a corresponding move.

Anderson was removed from Wednesday's game against the Yankees after getting hit by a comebacker, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Anderson was able to walk off the field under his own power after getting hit by a 103-mph line drive off the bat of Jazz Chisholm. The severity of the right-hander's injury is unknown, though it's possible the Rangers make him unavailable out of the bullpen for a day or two just to be safe.

Rangers' Grant Anderson: Snags first save
Anderson retired the only batter he faced to earn the save in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.
Anderson got Lenyn Sosa to fly out for the final out of the game after Andrew Chafin struggled in the ninth inning. Kirby Yates had pitched earlier in the day, earning the save in a game that was suspended Tuesday and finished Wednesday. Anderson has a 7.92 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB over 25 innings in the majors this year, adding a save, a hold and a blown save. He's likely resume a multi-inning role over the final month of the campaign after this rare chance to close.
