  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Four hits in high-scoring win

Lee went 4-for-6 with a triple, a double, two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 16-8 win over the Diamondbacks. Lee has collected four extra-base hits over his last four games. He led the charge with four of the Twins' hits Saturday, making him one of six Minnesota batters to log multiple hits in the contest. The infielder is batting .245 with a .736 OPS, 12 home runs, 44 RBI, 36 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples and three stolen bases over 74 contests this season. Even with the big effort Saturday, Lee is hitting just .217 in June.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Launches 12th homer

Lee went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Rangers. Lee extended Minnesota's lead to 4-0 in the first inning with his two-out shot off Jack Leiter, his 12th homer this season. Over his last nine games, Lee has gone 8-for-32 (.250) with three home runs and no strikeouts. Overall, he's slashing .238/.294/.423 with 42 RBI, 32 runs scored and three stolen bases across 283 plate appearances this year.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: New primary third baseman

Twins manager Derek Shelton confirmed Monday that Lee will be used primarily at third base moving forward, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Lee's glove work at shortstop has been poor, and with Royce Lewis having been optioned to Triple-A St. Paul, Lee has made four straight starts at the hot corner. Ryan Kreidler looks to be in line for the bulk of the starts at shortstop for the time being, though top prospect Kaelen Culpepper could get a look at the position before long.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Drives in three vs. Washington

Lee went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-3 win over the Nationals. Lee continued a strong stretch at the plate, ripping a two-RBI double in his first at-bat before adding another run-scoring double in the ninth inning. The infielder has been one of Minnesota's hottest hitters lately, batting .362 over his last 12 games. On the season, Lee is slashing .270/.323/.435 with five homers, four doubles, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and two stolen bases across 124 plate appearances.

Lee went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays. Lee has multiple hits in four of his last eight games and is now slashing .252/.313/.417 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored, two stolen bases and an 8:21 BB:K across 112 trips to the plate this season. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 draft is still batting near the bottom of the lineup.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Getting breather Tuesday

Lee is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Mariners. It's a well-earned day off for Lee, who had started each of the previous 16 contests. Tristan Gray will grab a start at shortstop and bat eighth for the Twins.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Homers in three-hit game

Lee went 3-for-4 with a double and a solo home run during Friday's 6-2 loss to the Rays. Lee collected three hits Friday against the Rays to give him back-to-back outings with a trio of hits. He clubbed a solo home run out to right field to cut the Twins' deficit from three to two in the fifth inning and also doubled in the ninth inning as the team tried to mount an unsuccessful late rally. It was a slow start for the 25-year-old, who had just five hits in his first 30 at-bats on the season, but he's now slashing .263/.322/.438 with four home runs and 13 RBI.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Homers in back-to-back games

Lee went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run during the Twins' 7-4 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. Lee's solo home run off Eric Lauer in the third inning kick-started the Twins' seven-run frame. Lee has gone deep in back-to-back games and has accrued four RBI over his last three contests. In nine outings since April 1, he has gone 8-for-29 (.276) with six RBI and three runs scored.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Absent from Minnesota lineup

Lee is not in the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Tigers. It's a routine day off after Lee had started each of the previous five contests. Tristan Gray will fill in at shortstop and bat eighth for the Twins.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Not in Sunday's lineup

Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. Lee has gone 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in the first two games of the season and will head to the bench for the series finale in Baltimore. Tristan Gray will take over at shortstop Sunday for the Twins.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Hitting for averge this spring

Lee went 2-for-4 in Monday's spring training win over Boston. He's hitting .308 (16-for-52) with a .743 OPS this spring. Lee looks set to begin the season as the everyday shortstop. He was underwhelming at the plate last year in his sophomore season with a .655 OPS, though he did hit 16 home runs. He has a good eye at the plate and makes excellent contact (just a 17.5 K%) but struggles to generate power (just a a 28.0% hard-hit rate). It's not clear if he'll have the glove to stick at shortstop as he was -8 in Defensive Runs Saved last season, so it's a big season for Lee to show he can be a building block for the next Twins playoff team.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Leading candidate for shortstop

Lee is the favorite to start at shortstop for the Twins but must show improved range and more consistent offense, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Lee took over as the everyday shortstop last season after Carlos Correa was traded, but he struggled at the position defensively. The Twins have very little depth behind Lee at shortstop, so they have little choice but to throw him out there and hope for improvement with the glove. If Lee falters, Ryan Kreidler and Orlando Arcia would be next in line at shortstop for Minnesota.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Lee is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees. Lee has a .178/.240/.289 slash line through 13 games in September and will take a seat Tuesday after starting the previous four contests. Ryan Fitzgerald will instead start at shortstop and bat eighth versus New York righty Cam Schlittler.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Day off Wednesday

Lee is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Angels. Lee went hitless in the first two games of the series and has gone just 6-for-42 across his last 11 tilts, so he'll get a breather in Wednesday's finale. Ryan Fitzgerald will occupy shortstop and bat eighth for the Twins.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Getting breather Thursday

Lee is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox. Lee is receiving a well-earned day of rest after starting each of the previous 20 contests for the Twins. Ryan Fitzgerald will fill in at shortstop in Lee's stead.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Lee is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees. Lee started the previous 11 games but will receive a day off after batting .150 (6-for-40) during that stretch. Ryan Fitzgerald will take over at shortstop Tuesday for Minnesota.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Homers in win

Lee went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Tigers. Lee scored on a wild pitch in the second inning before tying the game with a 430-foot blast in the fourth. The big night came at a good time, as the 24-year-old had entered Wednesday in a 1-for-21 slump since homering twice July 29 versus Boston. For the season, he's slashing .245/.288/.376 with 11 home runs, 44 RBI, 30 runs scored and two steals across 354 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Rips two homers

Lee went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Tuesday's loss to Boston. Lee came off the bench for Carlos Correa (illness) and delivered an offensive outburst. Lee put the Twins on the board with an RBI single in the fifth inning before knocking a pair of two-run homers in the seventh and ninth frames. It was his first career multi-homer performance and snapped a 23-game homer drought. During that skid, he went 11-for-70 (.157). Lee's five-RBI day matched his total from the previous 17 games combined. He's now slashing .256/.294/.387 with 20 extra-base hits and 43 RBI through 326 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Playing time tailing off

Lee will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. Though he'll be included in the lineup Wednesday while Carlos Correa rests for a day game after a night game, Lee was on the bench for each of the previous three contests and appears to have moved into more of a utility infield role for Minnesota while he's slashed just .111/.163/.133 since the beginning of July. A more consistent role could reopen for Lee if the Twins look to trade pending free agents such as Willi Castro, Harrison Bader and Ty France ahead of the July 31 deadline.

  • Twins' Brooks Lee: Back in lineup Sunday

Lee will start at second base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Rays. The Twins sent Lee to the bench for the previous two contests, but he came up big in a reserve role Saturday, going 1-for-2 with a walk-off RBI bunt single in a 6-5 win. Lee will rejoin the starting nine for the series finale, but he'll likely need to raise his production at the plate to ensure he maintains a regular spot in the lineup over Harrison Bader, who will head to the bench after making four straight starts. Over his last seven games, Lee has gone 3-for-19 with no walks and seven strikeouts, bringing his slash line down to .272/.306/.402 for the season.
