  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Optioned to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Rincones to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Rincones is one of the roster casualties after the Phillies acquired three players at Monday's trade deadline. With Bryce Harper returning to right field, Rincones' playing time down the stretch would have been sparse. The 25-year-old slashed just .167/.202/.286 with a 2:29 BB:K in his first 29 games in the big leagues.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Sitting against RHP again

Rincones is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Rincones will hit the bench for the second day in a row, with both absences coming against right-handed starting pitchers. The rookie has mostly been handling a strong-side platoon role in right field since getting called up to the big leagues June 12, but he's struggled to a .171/.207/.293 batting line with a 31 percent strikeout rate over 87 plate appearances. Bryan De La Cruz will draw a second straight start in right field and could be moving ahead of Rincones on the depth chart.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Sitting against righty

Rincones is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Miami. It's righty Sandy Alcantara on the bump for the Marlins, but the left-handed-hitting Rincones will begin the festivities on the bench. Bryan De La Cruz is in right field and batting eighth for the Phillies.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Idle against southpaw

Rincones is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. The Phillies will keep the left-handed-hitting Rincones on the bench for a second straight game while the Dodgers send another southpaw (Eric Lauer) to the bump. Bryan De La Cruz will replace Rincones in right field Wednesday for what will be De La Cruz's Phillies debut.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Sitting against lefty

Rincones is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. The left-handed hitter will hit the bench for the series finale while the Tigers send southpaw Tarik Skubal to the hill. Edmundo Sosa will take Rincones' spot in the outfield, covering left while batting fifth.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Idle Sunday

Rincones is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets. The Mets are going with a left-handed opening pitcher (Cionel Perez) in the series finale, so the left-handed-hitting Rincones will cede his spot in the outfield to the right-handed-hitting Derek Hill. Since being promoted from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on June 12, Rincones has hit .118 with one home run and a 0:9 BB:K over 34 plate appearances while mainly being used in the strong side of a platoon in right field.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Shelved at Triple-A

Triple-A Lehigh Valley placed Rincones (knee) on the 7-day injured list Friday. Before being optioned to Triple-A on March 7, Rincones had been shut down for much of spring training due to a sore left knee and apparently still needs more time to heal up. Assuming the knee doesn't prove to be a long-term concern, Rincones could make his MLB debut at some point in 2026 if he can hit the ground running once he's cleared to play.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Battling knee soreness

Rincones will miss the first part of the Grapefruit League schedule due to left knee soreness, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Rincones was awarded a 40-man roster spot during the offseason after slashing .242/.366/.430 with 18 homers, 73 RBI, 80 runs scored and 22 steals across 119 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley last year. The 24-year-old outfield prospect was expected to compete for a spot on the Phillies' bench during spring training, but his chances of making the Opening Day roster have taken a significant hit now that he's slated to miss some time.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Ks in check at Triple-A

Rincones is slashing .293/.333/.569 with three home runs, one steal and a 19 percent strikeout rate through 63 plate appearances for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The lefty-hitting slugger has by far the best strikeout rate of his career -- his prior career best over a large sample was his 24.8 percent strikeout rate at High-A in 2023. Rincones has always had huge raw power, and he moves well for a likely strong-side platoon corner outfielder, having stolen 23 bases in 68 games a season ago.

  • Phillies' Gabriel Rincones: Returns to action for Reading

Rincones (thumb) is slashing .255/.340/.404 with one home run, five stolen bases, a 7.5 percent walk rate and a 28.3 percent strikeout rate in 12 games since being reinstated from Double-A Reading's 60-day injured list July 19. Rincones returned to action for Reading after he tore a ligament in his right thumb April 24 and went on the IL a day later. The outfielder was cleared for game action in early July and appeared in eight rehab contests in the rookie-level Florida Complex League before rejoining Reading.
