Brewers' Payton Henry: Outrighted to Triple-A
Henry cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Henry posted a weak .186/.314/.209 batting line in 51 major-league plate appearances for the Marlins between 2021-22 before getting sent to the Brewers this past November. He'll serve as organizational depth at catcher for Milwaukee in 2023.

Brewers' Payton Henry: Traded to Milwaukee
Henry was traded from the Marlins to the Brewers in exchange for Reminton Batista on Thursday.
Henry missed significant time in 2022 after undergoing thumb surgery, but he returned to action at the minor-league level in July and hit .254 with three homers, 14 runs and nine RBI over 23 games at Triple-A Jacksonville to close out the year and will now attempt to carve out a role with the Brewers, who traded him to Miami in 2021.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Returns to Triple-A lineup
Triple-A Jacksonville reinstated Henry (thumb) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Henry started at catcher in Jacksonville's 5-2 win over Memphis later that day, going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. He had been on the shelf since June 9 due to a right thumb injury that required surgery.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Resumes catching
Henry (thumb) made the last two starts of his rehab assignment with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate at catcher and has gone 4-for-8 with a home run, a walk and two RBI through four games since beginning the assignment July 22.
Henry could shift his rehab assignment to a higher-level affiliate this weekend or early next week, but he'll still likely need to catch a full nine-inning game before being reinstated from Triple-A Jacksonville's 7-day injured list. The 25-year-old made the Marlins' Opening Day roster as the team's No. 2 backstop, but Nick Fortes has since solidified himself as the clear top backup to Jacob Stallings.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Ready to hit in games
Henry (thumb) is slated to serve as a designated hitter this weekend while he begins a rehab assignment for the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Henry's surgically repaired right thumb doesn't seem as though it's bothering him at the plate at this stage, but the 25-year-old apparently still needs more time to complete a throwing program. It's unclear when Henry will be able to resume his usual duties behind the plate, so he could be limited to a DH role when Triple-A Jacksonville reinstates him from its 7-day injured list.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Gets thumb surgery
Henry recently underwent surgery on his right thumb and is out indefinitely, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Henry opened the season as the Marlins' No. 2 catcher before he was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on May 26, when Miami elected to replace him with Nick Fortes. He made only six appearances for Jacksonville before he was placed on the affiliate's 7-day injured list June 9 with the thumb injury, which he wasn't able to treat with rest and rehab. Expect Henry to be sidelined for at least a month after requiring the procedure for the thumb on his throwing hand.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Back to minors
Henry was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Henry had been serving as Miami's backup catcher behind Jacob Stallings. However, the team selected Willians Astudillo's contact Wednesday, in turn lessening the need for Henry. Across 35 plate appearances with Miami, Henry hit .143/.314/.143.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Drives in two Sunday
Henry went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Sunday's loss to the Brewers.
His two-run single in the second inning gave the Marlins a 2-1 lead, but things unraveled for Miami after that. Henry has started five of the last 11 games as Jacob Stallings' struggles at the plate have opened up playing time, and he's somewhat taken advantage by going 4-for-13 (.308) with three RBI.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Little usage to begin season
Henry has started only one of the Marlins' first six games, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
Jacob Stallings is the clear starter behind the plate in Miami, but Henry has seen even less action than expected as his backup to begin the season. The 24-year-old has shown a smidge of offensive upside in the minors, but Henry likely won't be any kind of fantasy asset in the majors even if he were to see significant playing time.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Contract selected, starting Friday
Henry had his contract selected by the Marlins and is starting behind the plate Friday against the Pirates, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Henry was acquired from the Brewers in exchange for John Curtiss at the trade deadline, and he'll make his MLB debut Friday for Miami. The 24-year-old hit well at Double-A to open the season, but he has a sub-.700 OPS in 41 games since being promoted to the Triple-A level. He'll receive a look in the majors with Jorge Alfaro (calf) heading to the injured list.

Marlins' Payton Henry: Shipped to Miami
Henry was traded from the Brewers to the Marlins on Friday in exchange for John Curtiss, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
A 24-year-old catcher, Henry was better than league average as a hitter at Low-A, High-A and Double-A, earning a promotion to Triple-A earlier this season. He slashed .315/.392/.405 at Double-A and posted a .262/.338/.361 line at Triple-A prior to this trade. His on-base skills and power potential are the top traits on his scouting report.

Brewers' Payton Henry: Nabs spot in roster pool
The Brewers added Henry to their 60-man roster pool Monday.
Henry will claim the spot in the 60-man pool that opened up after Logan Morrison elected free agency last week when the Brewers outrighted him off the 40-man roster. The 23-year-old backstop has yet to see any action above the High-A level, so he likely won't be in store for a promotion to the big club in 2020 unless the Brewers are without multiple catchers at some point.

Brewers' Payton Henry: Sent to minors
Henry was reassigned to minor league camp by the Brewers on Tuesday.
Henry got a chance to get his feet wet with the big-league club this spring, but he was always destined to open the season in the minors. Henry spent all of last season with High-A Carolina and posted a .711 OPS, so it remains to be seen if he will head back there or get his first shot at the Double-A level to kick off the 2020 campaign.
