  • Phillies' Brian Keller: Sent to Lehigh Valley

The Phillies optioned Keller to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. After making just one appearance with the Phillies on June 25, Keller will re-join the Triple-A club. The 32-year-old allowed just one run on two hits while striking out three in three innings during his lone appearance. Philadelphia elevated Andrew Painter from Lehigh Valley to replace Keller on the 26-man roster.

  • Phillies' Brian Keller: Fares well in big-league debut

Keller took a no-decision Saturday against the Yankees, allowing one run on two hits and no walks in three innings. He struck out three. Making his major-league debut, Keller fared well on the bump while acting as a long reliever Saturday. Austin Wells tagged the 32-year-old right-hander for a solo home run in the third inning, but Keller was impressive otherwise against a formidable Yankees lineup. Philadelphia has had a hard time finding stability out of their fifth rotation spot since sending Andrew Painter down to the minors for seasoning, but Keller is tentatively lined up to take the ball next in Baltimore for now.

  • Phillies' Brian Keller: Officially promoted

The Phillies selected Keller's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley ahead of his scheduled appearance Saturday against the Yankees. Keller, 32, will be making his MLB debut as a bulk reliever Saturday after posting a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB across 36.1 innings at Lehigh Valley. Alex McFarlane and Max Lazar were sent down to Triple-A as part of a roster shuffle, and Tanner Banks (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man spot for Keller.
