Orioles' Luis Almeyda: Back in action in rookie ball
Almeyda (shoulder) has gone 3-for-7 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base, two runs and three RBI in three games for the Orioles' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.
Almeyda didn't play after July 25 last season due to a right shoulder injury, but the 19-year-old appears to have moved past the issue at some point prior to the start of the 2025 FCL campaign. He finished the 2024 season with a .200/.337/.316 slash line to go with five home runs and 12 stolen bases over 53 games in the FCL.

Orioles' Luis Almeyda: Dealing with shoulder issue
Almedya was removed from his game Thursday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League due to right shoulder discomfort, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Almeyda's 2023 season was cut short after he required surgery on his left shoulder last August, but he's now dealing with an injury to the other shoulder. The Orioles will likely evaluate Almeyda over the next few days before providing further clarity on the severity of his injury. Heading into Thursday, Almeyda had produced a .201/.339/.318 slash line with five home runs and 12 stolen bases across 189 plate appearances in the FCL on the season.

Orioles' Luis Almeyda: Playing regularly in FCL
Almeyda (shoulder) has appeared in 19 games for the Orioles' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, slashing .167/.309/.278 with two home runs and four stolen bases across 68 plate appearances.
The 18-year-old infielder's 2023 campaign was cut short after he required surgery on his left shoulder last August, but he was cleared for action ahead of the start of the FCL season in early May. Almeyda has shown a patient approach at the plate (16.9 percent walk rate) thus far, but he's yet to make consistent contact and hasn't hit for much power.
