  • Yankees' Henry Lalane: Comes back from IL

Lalane (shoulder) struck out three batters and issued three walks over two scoreless innings for Single-A Tampa on Tuesday after being reinstated from the 60-day injured list. On the shelf all season while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, Lalane was cleared to rejoin Tampa after making just one three-inning rehab appearance in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. His control was unsurprisingly shaky Tuesday following his return from an extended absence, as he didn't give up a hit but spotted just 18 of his 40 pitches for strikes and hit a batter and threw a wild pitch in addition to issuing three free passes. The 21-year-old southpaw remains one of the Yankees' top lower-level pitching prospects, but some bumpy outings should be expected over the rest of the season while he looks to return to form following surgery.

  • Yankees' Henry Lalane: Recovering from shoulder surgery

Lalane, who is currently on Single-A Tampa's 60-day injured list, is recovering from an offseason shoulder surgery, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports. It's not clear which specific shoulder procedure Lalane had or when he had it, but those rostering him in dynasty leagues shouldn't be surprised if he doesn't pitch this season. Lalane's value peaked when he was flashing three plus pitches while logging a 34:4 K:BB in 21.2 innings in the Florida Complex League in 2023.

  • Yankees' Henry Lalane: Opening season on IL

Single-A Tampa placed Lalane on its 60-day injured list March 19 due to an unspecified injury. Lalane spent extensive time on the injured list in 2023 and 2024 and will be ticketed for another lengthy stint on the shelf to begin the 2025 campaign. The 6-foot-7 southpaw is seen as one of the Yankees' top lower-level pitching talents, but durability is becoming a concern for the 20-year-old, who was slowed by shoulder soreness in 2024.

  • Yankees' Henry Lalane: On injured list

Lalane is on the Florida Complex League Yankees' 7-day injured list with an undisclosed injury. One of the most electric teenage pitchers in the minors, Lalane seemingly mastered the complex league last year (0.97 WHIP, 34:4 K:BB in 21.2 innings), so this explains why he hasn't been assigned to a full-season affiliate yet. If it were a very serious injury, Lalane may have been put on the 60-day injured list, so perhaps he'll just need some time to rehab the injury at the Yankees' spring training complex before making his season debut.
