  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Making most of opportunity

Seigler started at second base and went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-3 win over Washington. Seigler made a seventh consecutive start Monday and has hit safely in all seven. He's 11-for-23 with three doubles, a home run, three RBI, one steal and five runs during the streak. Injuries to Trevor Story (abdomen) and Marcelo Mayer (forearm) have created an opportunity for Seigler.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Swats first career homer

Seigler went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Yankees. Getting another start at second base, this time batting seventh against future Hall of Famer Gerrit Cole, Seigler got good wood on a 97.3-mph fastball in the second inning and lofted it the other way over the Green Monster. It was the first career homer for the 27-year-old in his 44th big-league game, and over eight straight starts for an injury-ravaged Red Sox infield, Siegler is batting .333 (9-for-27) with two doubles, two RBI and five runs in addition to Saturday's long ball.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Makes fifth straight start

Seigler started at second base and went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to Colorado. Seigler made a fifth consecutive start at second base since being called up before being moved mid-game to third base for an injured Caleb Durbin (finger). The Red Sox confirmed Durbin's injury is not a fracture, per Owen Perkins of MLB.com, and it will be a matter of how much pain he can tolerate. If Durbin misses time, Seigler could take over at the hot corner while Andruw Monasterio fills in at the keystone.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Recalled from Worcester

The Red Sox recalled Seigler from Triple-A Worcester on Saturday. With Isiah Kiner-Falefa on the injured list due to forearm inflammation, Seigler will rejoin the big club to help bolster Boston's infield depth. The 27-year-old has spent the vast majority of the season at Triple-A, slashing .289/.405/.437 with three homers, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored through 163 plate appearances. He could make an occasional start while the Red Sox are without Kiner-Falefa and Nick Sogard (oblique), though Andruw Monasterio is likely the frontrunner for regular playing time.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Demoted to Triple-A

The Red Sox optioned Seigler to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, reports Ian Browne of MLB.com. Seigler's stint with the big-league club will be short-lived after he was called up June 3. The 26-year-old recorded just four plate appearances in two games for the Red Sox. Boston will activate Garrett Whitlock (knee) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Returns to big leagues

The Red Sox recalled Seigler from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Chris Henrique of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. He's sliding into the roster spot vacated by the injured Nick Sogard (side). Seigler has had a great season with Worcester, slashing .298/.425/.471 with three home runs, three stolen bases and a 22:19 BB:K over 30 contests. The 26-year-old has split playing time between second and third base with Worcester and could get some reps at those positions with the big club.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Activated and optioned

The Red Sox activated Seigler (knee) from the 10-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Worcester. Seigler began a rehab assignment with Worcester on Thursday after recovering from left knee patellar tendinopathy, and the Red Sox will keep him with their top minor-league affiliate rather than add him to the active big-league roster. The 26-year-old utility player was acquired via trade from the Brewers over the offseason.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Nagging knee injury

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Seigler is nursing a knee injury that he first suffered in the Dominican Winter League, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. Seigler felt fine at the beginning of camp, but now the knee is barking again. It's not clear whether he will be sent for testing or will simply rest for a bit. Acquired from the Brewers in a trade this offseason, Seigler is competing for a reserve role with the Red Sox.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Traded to Boston

The Red Sox acquired Seigler in a trade with the Brewers on Monday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. Seigler hit .194/.292/.210 in 34 games with the Brewers in 2025 but posted a .414 on-base percentage during his time at Triple-A Nashville. The 26-year-old offers unique positional versatility with an ability to play third base, second base, both corner outfield spots and catcher. Seigler has minor-league options remaining and seems likely to begin the 2026 campaign at Triple-A Worcester.

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Dispatched back to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Seigler to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Seigler has batted only .194/.292/.210 with zero home runs over 34 games and had made just one start in September. He's being sent out in order to clear space on the active roster for the return of Rhys Hoskins (thumb).

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Losing out on starts to Durbin

Seigler remains out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Cubs. Seigler had started at third base in five of the Brewers' first eight games of August as manager Pat Murphy more proactively shielded rookie Caleb Durbin from right-handed pitching, but Durbin has since re-established himself as Milwaukee's clear top option at the hot corner. Over the last nine games, Seigler has cracked the lineup just once while Durbin has started in the other eight contests.

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Officially added to roster

The Brewers selected Seigler's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Seigler is a versatile player capable of handling catcher, second base and third base. He's a switch hitter but is a much better hitter from the left side of the plate, as he posted a .975 OPS against righties as compared to a .445 OPS versus lefties this season at Nashville. The 26-year-old is also a capable baserunner, having gone 20-for-23 on stolen-base attempts over 63 games in 2025. Seigler will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

The Brewers are expected to call up Seigler from Triple-A Nashville, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reported Sunday. Seigler inked a minor league contract with the Brewers in November after spending seven seasons in the Yankees organization. The 26-year-old has slashed .277/.416/.465 with seven home runs and 20 stolen bases over 267 plate appearances with Nashville this season. He's split time between second base, third base and catcher this season. It'll be his MLB debut if he gets into a game.

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Signs with Milwaukee as NRI

The Brewers signed Seigler to a minor-league contract Nov. 19 that includes an invitation to spring training. Seigler was a first-round pick of the Yankees back in 2018 but has yet to advance past the Double-A level, having slashed .234/.350/.398 with 12 homers and 29 steals at Double-A Somerset during the 2024 minor-league season. He was a full-time second baseman last season after primarily being a catcher previously. Seigler will likely begin the 2025 season at Triple-A Nashville.

  • Yankees' Anthony Seigler: Reporting to Low-A

The Yankees will assign Seigler (quadriceps) to Low-A Charleston on Monday to make his season debut, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. After straining his quadriceps in March, Seigler was held back at extended spring training as the Yankees took a cautious approach with returning him to game action. With the organization now apparently satisfied with how Seigler's quad has responded in a simulated games, the 2018 first-round pick will now make his debut in full-season ball. The 19-year-old will get a tough test right off the bat with Charleston set to oppose Dallas Keuchel, who will be making his first rehab start for the Braves' affiliate in Rome.
