Hoerner went 4-for-9 with a walk, four doubles and five runs scored across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets.
After enduring a brutal slump for much of June, Hoerner is showing signs of life lately. The speedy infielder has gone 8-for-23 across his last four games with six doubles and seven runs scored. Hoerner is still batting only .241 on the season, which is well below the level he's used to, but he has the contact skills to turn things around, and he's at his best when he's getting on regularly and swiping plenty of bases.

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Sitting amid slump

After a strong start to the season, it's mostly been a slog lately for Hoerner. He's batting just .206 in 27 May games with four stolen bases. In 31 games before May, the infielder batted .291 with seven steals. Hoerner's MLB track record suggests his numbers will climb again soon, and his ability to rack up stolen bases quickly continues to drive his fantasy value.

Hoerner was removed from Friday's game after experiencing tightness on the left side of his neck and then remained on the bench Saturday as well, but he feels well enough to give it a go in the series finale. The 28-year-old opened the season as the Cubs' No. 5 hitter but has climbed into the leadoff spot after producing a .374 OBP through his first 32 games.
