Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Scores twice in win
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.
Hoerner has been good this month with a .296 batting average across 13 September contests, though he hasn't stolen a base since Aug. 28, which is generally how he derives much of his fantasy value. The 29-year-old infielder has also had to adjust to playing shortstop recently, as he's been filling in for Dansby Swanson (oblique) since the middle of August. Swanson is expected back from the injured list toward the end of the week, which should push Hoerner back to second base. He'll remain a contact-oriented hitter who can contribute runs and steals but little power.

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Three hits in Saturday's win
Hoerner went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Marlins.
The infielder produced his second straight three-hit effort and his third in the last nine games. Hoerner has shifted over to shortstop while Dansby Swanson (oblique) is on the shelf, but the change in defensive responsibilities hasn't caused him to lose focus at the plate. Over 18 games since Swanson landed on the IL, Hoerner boasts a .310/.320/.366 slash line with one homer, two steals, four runs and eight RBI.

Hoerner contributed early in the blowout win, launching a solo homer to left field in the first inning. Hoerner's top fantasy asset remains his wheels, and he's able to swipe more bags when he's swinging a hot bat like he has been lately.

After batting .301 in July, Hoerner has carried his strong play over into August. He has three multi-hit performances in five games this month, which has pushed his overall batting average up from .255 to .262. A career .279 hitter, Hoerner is trending in the right direction after struggling at the plate in May and June, and he should be able to rack up plenty of stolen bases if he continues to get on base at a similar clip.
