  • Blue Jays' Dasan Hill: Heading to Toronto

The Twins traded Hill, John Klein, Dameury Pena and $250K in international cap space to the Blue Jays on Monday in exchange for Jeff Hoffman, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. The Jays have a history of chasing high-upside prep lefties, selecting Johnny King, Ricky Tiedemann and Brandon Barriera in recent drafts, and Hill is cut from the same cloth. The 6-foot-5 southpaw was given an aggressive assignment to High-A for his age-20 season and while he has missed plenty of bats (35.8 K%), Hill's control has been a problem (17.2 BB%). He has a 5.80 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 77:37 K:BB in 45 innings across 16 starts.

  • Twins' Dasan Hill: Promoted to High-A

Hill has been promoted to High-A Cedar Rapids, Seth Stohs of TwinsDaily.com reports. Hill had a 2.77 ERA with a 68:33 K:BB in 52 innings at Single-A Fort Myers. Hill, the 69th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, had an aggressive placement at Single-A out of high school to begin the season and he's exceeded expectations. He'll need to reduce his walk rate (15.9%) at High-A, however.

  • Twins' Dasan Hill: Promising start at Single-A

Hill has a 2.45 ERA and 13:2 K:BB in 7.1 innings through his first two starts for Single-A Fort Myers. He reached 97.2 mph with his sinker during the outing, Seth Stohs of TwinsDaily.com reports. Hill, the 69th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, had an aggressive placement at Single-A out of high school to begin the season, and the initial results are encouraging. If the velocity gains he's showed hold up, the 19-year-old could move up prospect lists quickly.
