  • Diamondbacks' Philip Abner: Heading back to Reno

The Diamondbacks optioned Abner to Triple-A Reno on Sunday. Since Abner was unlikely to be available out of the bullpen for at least a couple of days after tossing 2.2 scoreless innings and 44 pitches Saturday, the Diamondbacks opted to send him to Triple-A. Arizona recalled lefty Kohl Drake from Reno in a corresponding move, giving the bullpen a fresh arm capable of covering multiple innings.

  • Diamondbacks' Philip Abner: Back with D-backs

The Diamondbacks recalled Abner from Triple-A Reno on Saturday. Abner will return to the big leagues to replace Michael Soroka, who landed on the injured list Saturday with a glute strain. Abner has given up seven earned runs in just 3.2 innings with the big club this season and will likely be limited to low-leverage situations while in the majors.

  • Diamondbacks' Philip Abner: Recalled from Reno

The Diamondbacks recalled Abner from Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Abner will join Kade Strowd on the trip back to the majors to replace Brandon Pfaadt and Taylor Clarke (bereavement) in Arizona's bullpen. Abner gave up two earned runs in 2.1 innings during his lone appearance with the D-backs this season and has pitched to a 5.12 ERA in 19.1 frames during his time in Triple-A, so he shouldn't be expected to receive much more than low-leverage work.

  • Diamondbacks' Philip Abner: Recalled by Arizona

The Diamondbacks recalled Abner from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday. Abner failed to crack the Diamondbacks' Opening Day roster, but he'll report to the big club prior to Wednesday's game against the Brewers. In nine appearances in Triple-A, Abner has a 4.82 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB across 9.1 innings. In a corresponding move, right-hander Andrew Hoffmann was optioned to Reno following Tuesday's game against Milwaukee.

  • Diamondbacks' Philip Abner: Sent to Reno

Abner was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports. Abner appeared in nine contests with Arizona during spring training, giving up five runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out 12 batters over 9.2 innings. The nine appearances is tied with fellow relief pitcher Ryan Thompson for the team lead to this point.
