Lambert has been on the injured list all season after suffering a right rotator cuff strain during spring training, and he was pulled off his rehab assignment earlier this month after aggravating the injury. He has now elected to undergo surgery to address the issue, which will prevent him from pitching again this season. Lambert began his rehab assignment Friday, when he struck out two while allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless innings.
