Brewers' Vinny Nittoli: Gets NRI from Milwaukee
The Brewers signed Nittoli to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Nittoli had opted out of his minor-league deal with the Mets back in August and has now found a new club for next season. The 33-year-old allowed two runs with an 8:2 K:BB over 12 frames in the majors in 2024 and held a 3.60 ERA and 43:12 K:BB across 30 innings at the Triple-A level.

Vinny Nittoli: Opts out of minor-league contract
The Mets released Nittoli on Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Nittoli exercised an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, presumably after being told he would not receive a promotion. The righty did not pitch well in his brief time at Triple-A Syracuse, allowing five runs (four earned) over 3.2 innings. However, Nittoli has mostly been very good both in the majors (1.50 ERA in nine appearances) and minors (3.60 ERA, 43:12 K:BB in 30 innings) this season, so he should be able to latch on elsewhere.

Mets' Vinny Nittoli: Catches on with Mets
Nittoli agreed to a minor-league contract with the Mets on Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Nittoli has now caught on with his fourth organization of the season following stints with the Athletics, Cubs and Orioles. He saw big-league action with both Oakland and Baltimore, making nine total relief appearances while logging a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 12 innings. The right-hander will report to Triple-A Syracuse to begin his tenure with the Mets but should be in the mix for a call-up to the majors over the final six weeks of the season.

Vinny Nittoli: Elects free agency
The Orioles released Nittoli on Thursday, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.
Nittoli had been removed from the 40-man roster and has elected free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment. The right-handed reliever has pitched well in nine appearances in 2024 between the Orioles and Athletics, allowing just two runs with an 8:2 K:BB in 12 innings.

Orioles' Vinny Nittoli: Designated for assignment
The Orioles designated Nittoli for assignment Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Nittoli will lose his spot on the Orioles' roster following the acquisition of Zach Eflin in a trade with Tampa Bay on Friday. The 33-year-old Nittoli has been a reliable option out of the bullpen this season, posting 1.50 ERA through 12 innings between the Athletics and Orioles, making it likely another team claims him off waivers.

Orioles' Vinny Nittoli: Selected from Triple-A
The Orioles selected Nittoli's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.
Nittoli signed a minor-league deal with the O's on July 2 and has since given up one run in three innings in Triple-A. He'll now provide additional depth to Baltimore's bullpen, replacing Cade Povich on the team's pitching staff. Danny Coulombe (elbow) was moved to the 60-day IL in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Vinny Nittoli: Elects free agency
Nittoli rejected the Cubs' outright assignment to Triple-A Iowa and elected free agency, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The right-hander was designated for assignment by Chicago on Friday and won't stick around after passing through waivers unclaimed. Nittoli has made seven appearances at the big-league level this season -- all with the Athletics -- and has allowed two earned runs with a 5:2 K:BB over eight innings.

Cubs' Vinny Nittoli: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Cubs outrighted Nittoli to Triple-A Iowa on Monday.
He can elect free agency and seems likely to do so given that he did just over a week ago when the Athletics outrighted him off their 40-man roster. Nittoli did not make an appearance during his one day on the Cubs' roster.

Cubs' Vinny Nittoli: Designated for assignment
The Cubs designated Nittoli for assignment Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Nittoli signed a major-league contract with the Cubs on Thursday, but he's now been DFA'd twice within the past week. He did not appear in a game during his 24-hour stint with Chicago. Nittoli elected free agency after being pushed off the Athletics' 40-man roster last week, though it's unclear if he intends to do so again. His departure clears room on the Cubs' active roster for Jorge Lopez, who was selected from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move.

Cubs' Vinny Nittoli: Catches on with North Siders
Nittoli agreed to a one-year contract with the Cubs on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
The Cubs will hope that Nittoli can bolster a bullpen that ranks 24th in the majors this season with a collective 4.52 ERA. The 33-year-old previously made seven appearances in the big leagues with the Athletics this season, logging a 2.25 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in eight innings prior to being moved off the 40-man roster and electing free agency last week.

Vinny Nittoli: Elects free agency
Nittoli cleared waivers Sunday and elected to become a free agent.
Nittoli was pushed off Oakland's 40-man roster Friday in order to make room for Osvaldo Bido. Rather than returning to Triple-A Las Vegas, the 33-year-old Nittoli will look to latch on with another organization, likely in a situation that would offer MLB playing time. He owns a 2.25 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through eight innings in the big leagues this season and has posted similar numbers in Triple-A, so he could attract a fair amount of attention on the open market.

Athletics' Vinny Nittoli: DFA'd by Oakland
The Athletics designated Nittoli for assignment Friday.
The move corresponds with Oakland recalling right-hander Osvaldo Bido from Triple-A Las Vegas. After joining the Athletics on a minor-league deal in October, Nittoli was promoted to the big club June 4. In his seven major-league appearances this season, Nittoli has allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five over eight frames. Given his solid play with the Athletics, the 33-year-old right-hander could garner interest on the waiver wire from teams looking to add to their bullpen.

Athletics' Vinny Nittoli: First loss despite solid outing
Nittoli (0-1) took the loss against the Royals on Thursday, allowing an earned run on a solo home run and recording two strikeouts over two innings.
Nittoli paid dearly for his one mistake, a tie-breaking solo home run surrendered to Bobby Witt in the eighth inning. The Athletics would prove incapable of erasing the one-run deficit in the final two frames, saddling Nittoli with his first major-league loss in 13 career outings. Despite the stumble Thursday, Nittoli has been a solid bullpen piece for manager Mark Kotsay since being summoned from Triple-A Las Vegas in early June, posting a 2.25 ERA across eight innings over seven appearances.
