  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Struggles in no-decision

Priester did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Cardinals, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out two.

The Milwaukee right-hander was in line for the loss before Jackson Chourio bailed him out with a game-tying homer in the ninth. Priester allowed a season-worst eight base knocks as the St. Louis lineup peppered him with runs in the second, third and fourth innings. After looking sharp with a 0.90 ERA in 10 innings over his first two starts, Priester has regressed in his last two outings, allowing seven runs across nine innings. The 24-year-old currently lines up to face the high-powered Cubs offense at home next weekend.

  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Struggles with control Monday

Priester allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three batters over four-plus innings in a no-decision against San Francisco on Monday.

Priester struggled to throw the ball in the strike zone throughout his outing, as only 42 of his 81 pitches were strikes. The righty issued a season-high four walks, though he still managed to limit the damage to just two runs. Priester had tossed five frames in each of his previous two starts, but walks have certainly been an issue for him, as he's now handed out nine free passes in just 14 innings on the campaign. Priester has nonetheless registered a 1.93 ERA, and he's lined up to make his next start in St. Louis this weekend.

  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Tosses five scoreless

Priester (1-0) allowed just one hit and walked three over five scoreless innings in a win against the Tigers on Tuesday. He struck out four.

Priester was dominant in his first home start as a member of the Brewers. He did not give up a hit until the very last batter he faced, which was a leadoff double in the sixth by Gleyber Torres, leading to a pitching change with the game being close. Priester's been an excellent acquisition for the Brewers early on, allowing just one run on seven hits in 10 innings. He lines up for a road start in San Francisco next week.

  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Remains in rotation

Priester is scheduled to make his second start with the Brewers on Tuesday versus the Tigers at American Family Field, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Milwaukee's rotation became more crowded after Jose Quintana was called up from Triple-A Nashville this past Friday to make his team debut, but Priester will retain a starting role after the Brewers moved Elvin Rodriguez to the bullpen. Priester's standing in the rotation could be on shakier ground in the coming weeks once Tobias Myers (oblique) and Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) are likely ready to return from the 15-day injured list, but the 24-year-old righty did his part to make a strong first impression after being acquired from the Red Sox last Monday. The Brewers tapped Priester to start three days later, and he held his own in a tough environment for pitchers in Colorado, limiting the Rockies to one earned run on six hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings.

  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Five solid innings in team debut

Priester didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rockies after allowing one run on five hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out four.

Other than giving up a leadoff solo homer to Brenton Doyle in the first inning, Priester kept Colorado's bats in check in a tough spot at hitter-friendly Coors Field in his Brewers debut. Priester is helping fill in for the injured Nestor Cortes (elbow) among other sidelined starters, although the right-hander figures to be unlikely to maintain a rotation spot once Milwaukee's pitching staff gets healthier. As it stands, the former top prospect is tentatively scheduled to next face the Tigers at home early next week.

  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Likely to make team debut Thursday

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that there's a "pretty good chance" Priester will make his team debut Thursday in Colorado, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.

The Brewers acquired Priester via trade from the Red Sox on Monday and officially added him to their active roster Tuesday. It's not an ideal environment for Priester's first start with his new club, so fantasy managers would be wise to keep the right-hander on their bench for now. Priester would tentatively be set up for two starts next week at home against the Tigers and Athletics. The 24-year-old yielded two runs with a 6:0 K:BB over four innings in his first start with Triple-A Worcester this season and held a 4.71 ERA in 11 appearances between the Red Sox and Pirates in 2024.

  • Brewers' Quinn Priester: Traded to Milwaukee

The Brewers acquired Priester from the Red Sox on Monday in exchange for Yophery Rodriguez, a Competitive Balance Round A draft pick, and a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Priester had been at Triple-A Worcester, where he allowed two runs with a 6:0 K:BB over four innings in his first start. He will join the major-league club in Milwaukee and should immediately slide into a rotation that's been hit hard by injuries. It's the second time since last summer that Priester has been traded, as he went from the Pirates to the Red Sox for Nick Yorke in July.

  • Red Sox's Quinn Priester: Sent to Triple-A

The Red Sox optioned Priester to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

The right-hander was competing for a place in Boston's season-opening rotation, but his move to the minors leaves Sean Newcomb and Cooper Criswell in competition for that job. Priester combined for a 4.71 ERA in 11 appearances between the Red Sox and Pirates last season, and he'll likely be back up with the big club at some point in 2025.

  • Red Sox's Quinn Priester: Might be behind Newcomb

Priester could be trailing Sean Newcomb in the competition to open the season as the Red Sox' fifth starter, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

It seems to be virtually a coin flip, but Browne gives Newcomb the edge. Priester's last Grapefruit League start was his worst, as he yielded three runs on six hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He also has minor-league options left, while added Newcomb to the roster would allow the Red Sox to retain some depth.

  • Red Sox's Quinn Priester: Makes third spring start

Priester allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out four over 2.2 innings in Tuesday's spring start against the Pirates.

Priester made his third Grapefruit League start on the same day he was mentioned by manager Alex Cora as an option to fill in for Brayan Bello, whose shoulder injury may force him to the injured list for the start of the season. Priester, who worked his pitch count to 46 (30 strikes), owns a 2.70 ERA and 1.80 WHIP with a .320 BAA over 6.2 spring innings.
