Paris had been out of action for nearly two months before he returned to the Salt Lake lineup. The 22-year-old has struggled to find a rhythm at the dish since being activated and is now holding down a weak .641 OPS with three home runs and five stolen bases over 111 plate appearances at Triple-A in 2024.

Rotowire
Triple-A Salt Lake placed Paris on its 7-day injured list July 11 with an unspecified injury.
Paris was sent to the Angels' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate July 20, but he never appeared in any games with the club before the ACL season ended July 25. The infielder could still be conducting his rehab in Arizona, but he'll likely need to report to Single-A Inland Empire or High-A Tri-City once he's ready to get in competitive at-bats before joining back up with Salt Lake. Paris had slashed .118/.224/.216 over 58 plate appearances with the Angels earlier in the season before being demoted to Salt Lake on June 8.

Angels' Kyren Paris: Launches first career homer
Rotowire
Paris went 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Astros.
The 22-year-old gave the Angels all the offense they would need on the afternoon when he took Hunter Brown deep in the fifth inning. It was Paris' first career big-league homer in his 26th game, and while power isn't a big part of his game, he did slug 14 home runs in 113 contests for Double-A Rocket City in 2023. Paris got the start at second base Wednesday but slid over to shortstop, and he could be looking at a longer run at the latter position if Zach Neto (elbow) winds up missing significant time.

Angels' Kyren Paris: Promoted to majors
Rotowire
Paris was recalled from Double-A Rocket City on Thursday.
With both Brandon Drury (hamstring) and Luis Rengifo (illness) sidelined, the Angels were shorthanded along the infield. Paris boasts enough defensive versatility to help the team in that regard, as he is capable of playing second base and shortstop as well as in the outfield. His ability to contribute as a hitter is far less clear, as he was striking out at a 39.1 percent clip across 92 plate appearances with Rocket City prior to his promotion.

Angels' Kyren Paris: Getting look in center field
Rotowire
Paris will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
Paris is a natural middle infielder and had started at shortstop in nine of the Angels' first 10 games of September, but he lost hold of his everyday role when Zach Neto was activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday. Though Paris was held out of the lineup for the past two games and is slashing just .103/.235/.103 through 35 plate appearances in the majors, the Angels are still eager to give him a look over the final few weeks of the season. To that end, Paris will pick up his first professional start in center field Wednesday while the Angels remain without the services of Mike Trout (wrist) and Mickey Moniak (back).
