Brewers' Brian Fitzpatrick: Shifted to 60-day IL
Fitzpatrick (elbow) was shifted to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Fitzpatrick was placed on the 15-day IL with a left UCL strain Saturday, and the southpaw may need to undergo Tommy John surgery. Regardless of whether surgery is necessary, the 26-year-old will now be sidelined until at least early August. The transaction clears room for outfielder Luis Lara on the 40-man roster after Milwaukee inked the 21-year-old to a fresh seven-year, $31 million contract extension Tuesday.

Fitzpatrick was removed from Friday's game against the Rockies after he appeared to suffer the elbow injury while warming up for the seventh inning. The rookie left-hander has appeared in five games out of Milwaukee's bullpen this season, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts across 6.2 innings. Fitzpatrick is now looking at an extended absence after being placed on the 15-day injured list earlier Saturday.

The Brewers placed Fitzpatrick (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The results of Fitzpatrick's MRI are still unknown, though the Brewers have already determined that the 26-year-old lefty will need to spend time on the injured list. Drew Rom was selected from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move to fill the void in Milwaukee's bullpen.

Brewers' Brian Fitzpatrick: Slated for MRI
Fitzpatrick will undergo an MRI on his left elbow Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Fitzpatrick pitched a shutout sixth inning Friday against Colorado, but he felt a pop in his elbow while throwing warm-up pitches ahead of the seventh inning and was in a considerable amount of pain as he walked off the field. More about the severity of his injury will be known once the Brewers get his test results back, but there seems to be a good chance the 26-year-old southpaw will require a trip to the injured list.
