The Golden State Warriors have released Aaron Craft, James Michael McAdoo, Jason Kapono, Sean Kilpatrick and Mitchell Watt, the team announced late Friday. Craft, a defensive-minded guard who starred at Ohio State, is headed to Golden State's D-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, his agent told the Columbus Dispatch's Bob Baptist.
Craft impressed the Warriors enough at summer league in Las Vegas to earn a training camp invite and a partially guaranteed contract. His chances of making the team, however, were always slim. Golden State already has Shaun Livingston, Leandro Barbosa and Nemanja Nedovic on its bench, so it didn't particularly need more guard depth. Swingman Justin Holiday, Jrue's brother, won the final roster spot.
In four preseason contests, Craft averaged 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 14.7 minutes.
