The Brooklyn Nets have re-signed forward Alan Anderson to a two-year contract, his agency announced on Monday. It'll be worth "a little less than three million," with a player option on the second year, according to the New York Post's Tim Bontemps.
With Paul Pierce looking super weird in a Washington Wizards jersey and Shaun Livingston in Golden State next season, Anderson should have a chance to play a bigger role. He averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game for Brooklyn last season, shooting 34 percent from the three-point line.
Anderson is a solid signing for the Nets, who might have been extremely thin on the wing if they'd lost him. He's far from flashy, but he plays physical defense and is a serviceable shooter, even if prone to attempting low-percentage shots at times. When you consider that Caron Butler is going to make about three times as much as Anderson, you have to see this as a bargain.
