The Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls needed every single second of a 53-minute game to determine a winner during their Saturday night contest at the United Center. The Bulls prevailed 102-101, thanks to a last-second game-winning buzzer-beater by All-Star forward Luol Deng.
After the two teams battled into an overtime period, Chicago had possession with less than 7 seconds left, down one. Guard C.J. Watson drove hard into the paint, tossing up a jumper with just a second or two remaining. The shot was deflected by Raptors forward James Johnson, but the tip deflected directly to Deng, who was in position for the rebound. Deng corralled the loose ball in mid-air and then quick-released a follow-up shot off the glass.
Deng's basket was ruled good on the court and video replay indicated that the ball was outo f his hands just before the final buzzer sounded.
Deng finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block on 10-for-24 shooting in 50 minutes.
