Matt Moore and I discover there has been a bit of news since we discussed Mike Brown's future with the Lakers on Friday morning. Apparently, he has been fired and the Lakers went through a dramatic weekend search for their new coach.
Was the Brown firing fair? We examine how Mike D'Antoni will do and whether it was the more interesting call over bringing Phil Jackson back. How do the Lakers' players match what D'Antoni's teams have historically done? Are the Lakers more contenders now than they were on Thursday? And is this a move for this season or next?
We also get into the Memphis Grizzlies after their impressive demolition of the Miami Heat. We talk about the Grizzlies' second unit and how incredible the play of Mike Conley has been. Also, we figure out a former player he reminds us of.
Then we discuss the spat between Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins and Spurs broadcaster Sean Elliott. Was what Cousins did warranted because of Elliott's style of announcing? Is there any way basketball nerds would defend Elliott here?
Finally, we preview Monday night's action and I rant about voodoo.
