It is finally official: Evan Turner is a member of the Boston Celtics. He spoke at media day on Monday, and the team released a statement. Turner signed for a fully guaranteed two-year deal worth $6.7 million, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. They signed him for just enough money to stay under the hard cap. 

It was reported all the way back in July that the team had reached an agreement with Turner. The team apparently wanted to wait until it had finished the rest of its offseason transactions before finalizing it, though. A few days ago, Boston traded veteran Keith Bogans and his fully unguaranteed 2015-2016 salary to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Turner is coming off a disappointing stint with the Indiana Pacers after spending the first three and a half years of his career in Philadelphia. The No. 2 pick in the 2010 draft, he still has to prove he can play an efficient brand of basketball in the NBA. He'll get a chance to do so on a team he has historically made big plays against.

Boston also announced it had waived guard John Lucas III and forward Malcolm Thomas, who were acquired from the Cavaliers.
