Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh left Game 1 late in the second quarter with an abdominal strain and did not return to the game.
The injury occured on a dunk in which Bosh stretched out to finish over Roy Hibbert. Bosh scored 13 points on 6-for-11 shooting in the first half, playing a big role in keeping the Heat close during a lackluster start.
Following the injury, Bosh stayed in the game initially, hitting his free throws and then playing defense before going down after defending against Hibbert in the post. Coach Erik Spoelstra called time out, and Bosh left the game.
According to the team, Bosh is getting an MRI on his strained abdomen.
Without Bosh, the Heat started Ronny Turiaf in the second half. Turiaf only played a total of seven minutes in the opening round.
Bosh averaged 15 points per game on 51-percent shooting in Miami's first-round win over the Knicks. He played in 57 of Miami's 66 regular-season games this season, missing three because of a death in his family and the last six games before the playoffs with a hamstring problem.
