The journey continues for Ronny Turiaf.
The Denver Nuggets have elected to waive the seventh year big man after acquiring him in a 3-team trade on Thursday that sent center Nene Hilario to the Washington Wizards.
Turiaf, 29, went to Denver along with center JaVale McGee. Wizards guard Nick Young went to the Los Angeles Clippers. Clippers big man Brian Cook went to Washington with Nene.
The Nuggets' frontline rotation now includes McGee, Timofey Mozgov, Al Harrington, Chris Andersen, promising rookie Kenneth Faried and Kosta Koufos. Turiaf was extraneous.
Turiaf has appeared in just 4 games for the Wizards this season and hasn't played since Jan. 1. Back in August, he broke his left hand while playing for the French national team.
Washington acquired Turiaf from the New York Knicks in December as part of a 3-team sign-and-trade that landed center Tyson Chandler in the Big Apple.
Turiaf was on the books for $4.4 million this season, the last year of his contract. He's now an unrestricted free agent.
